Kara Wethington, known by the stage name Katalina, is a pop/dance artist who was signed to Thump Records. She is mostly known for her hit single "D.J. Girl" from her sole album Sonic Groove (1996). The album also spawned two more singles, "Sonic Groove" and "You'll Be My Future", but neither found much success on the charts.
Kara Wethington was born in Chicago, Illinois. [1] She moved to California at a young age, where she was raised. [1]
Wethington was discovered by producer/ manager Jon St. James while she was attending Sonora High School in La Habra, California and working part-time at his recording studio. When a vocalist failed to show up for a session, St. James asked Wethington to sit in and do a scratch vocal, which resulted in the song "DJ Girl" released under the pseudonym Katalina. The song peaked at #86 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1996. [2]
Wethington has had several small acting parts, including the role of crust punk Bradie on the internet television series Fear of a Punk Planet (1999–2000) and Merla in the independent film That Darn Punk (2001), both of which involved members of the punk rock band The Vandals. She sang the female vocal on "Wish Me Well (You Can Go to Hell)" on The Bouncing Souls' 1999 album Hopeless Romantic , and sang the lead vocal on a cover version of "My Heart Will Go On" with The Vandals for the That Darn Punk soundtrack. She also played a small role as a singer in Simply Irresistible , a 1999 romantic comedy film for which she contributed a cover version of "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" to the soundtrack.

The Vandals are an American punk rock band, established in 1980 in Orange County, California. They have released ten full-length studio albums, two live albums, and have toured the world extensively, including performances on the Vans Warped Tour. They are well known for their use of humor, preferring to use their music as a vehicle for comedy and sarcasm rather than as a platform for more serious issues. As of 2000, they are signed to Kung Fu Records.

Nerf Herder is an American rock band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1994 by Parry Gripp, Charlie Dennis (bass) and Steve Sherlock (drums). They describe themselves as a "geek rock" band, and are known for simplistic modern punk-style songs with frequently humorous, juvenile, and pop-culture-referencing lyrics. They are the inventors of the "nerdcore" music subgenre, a reference to bands from Oxnard who called themselves "Nard"-core, which Gripp updated in the mid-90s to explain Nerf Herder and their nerdy influences.

"When I Fall in Love" is a popular song, written by Victor Young (music) and Edward Heyman (lyrics). It was introduced in the film One Minute to Zero. Jeri Southern sang on the first recording released in April 1952 with the song's composer, Victor Young, handling the arranging and conducting duties. The song has become a standard, with many artists recording it; the first hit version was sung by Doris Day released in July 1952.
That Darn Punk Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a soundtrack album to the 2001 independent film That Darn Punk. The film was released by Kung Fu Films and starred Joe Escalante of the punk rock band The Vandals as the lead character. Escalante is also in charge of Kung Fu Films and Kung Fu Records, which put out the film's soundtrack. The label was co-founded by Escalante and Vandals guitarist Warren Fitzgerald, who also appears in the film. In fact, all the members of the Vandals appear in the film as the fictional band the Big Tippers, alongside several other punk rock personalities. The soundtrack album was released to coincide with the release of the film, which went straight to video on VHS and DVD formats.
Jon St. James is an American guitarist, songwriter–composer, producer and recording engineer. His Casbah Recording Studio was a part of Orange County, California's new music scene in the late 1970s and early to mid-1980s. St. James' first album was as leader–frontman–songwriter of the progressive rock group French Lick. St James was a pioneer of techno pop and dance music, using Moog synthesizers, electronic effects, and tape loops. St. James lived in France for two years, studying Musique concrète with French composers.
Aimee Allen is an American singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. She is currently the lead vocalist for the ska-punk band The Interrupters under the moniker Aimee Interrupter. Irresistible is the second studio album by American recording artist Jessica Simpson, released on May 25, 2001, through Columbia Records. Simpson, who began working on the project in July 2000, contacted already established writers and producers to collaborate on the project, including Cory Rooney, Rodney Jerkins, and Walter Afanasieff. In contrast to her debut album Sweet Kisses (1999), which included more ballads, Irresistible explored hip hop and R&B genres of music. Simpson described the material as "Mariah Carey meets Britney Spears", indicating the soulfulness of the songs as well as their contemporary appeal. Lyrical themes addressed in the album include love and heartbreak, sexuality, and self-respect.
"Bad Girl" is a song by Canadian singer Avril Lavigne for her fifth studio album, Avril Lavigne (2013). It was written by Lavigne, Chad Kroeger and David Hodges, while the song was produced by Kroeger and Hodges and features guest vocals by American singer Marilyn Manson. After hearing "Bad Girl", Lavigne thought Manson would complement the track. Manson added his vocals to the song early one morning, and Lavigne was honored to be able to collaborate with him.
