Kent Leonhardt (born April 2,1954) is the West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture. Having been elected in November 2016, [1] he took office January 2017. He is a member of the United States Republican Party.
Leonhardt is a farmer operating a 380-acre (150 ha) farm in western Monongalia County,West Virginia. He raises sheep,cattle,and goats. He formerly served in the West Virginia State Senate for the 2nd district. [2] He is retired from the United States Marine Corps as a lieutenant colonel. He holds a degree in wildlife management from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Central Michigan University. [3]

Kent County is located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census,the county had a population of 657,974,making it the fourth most populous county in Michigan,and the largest outside of the Detroit area. Its county seat is Grand Rapids. The county was set off in 1831,and organized in 1836. It is named for New York jurist and legal scholar James Kent,who represented the Michigan Territory in its dispute with Ohio over the Toledo Strip.

The West Virginia Republican Party is the affiliate of the United States Republican Party in West Virginia. Matthew Herridge is the party chair. It is currently the dominant party in the state,and is one of the strongest affiliates of the national Republican Party. It controls both of West Virginia's U.S. House seats,both of the U.S. Senate seats,the governorship,and has supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature.
Thomas Charles O'Halleran is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 1st congressional district from 2017 to 2023. Beginning his political career as a Republican,he was the Arizona state senator from the 1st district from 2007 to 2009. In 2015,he became a member of the Democratic Party. Previously,he was a member of the West Virginia Senate,representing the 15th district from 1990 to 2012. Earlier he was a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1988 through 1989,served on the Pocahontas County Commission and on the Pocahontas County School Board.

Michael Honaker is an American politician who served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from the 46th district. Appointed by Governor Jim Justice in December 2021,he assumed office on January 4,2022. On August 30,2023,Honaker resigned from the House of Delegates after his appointment as the inspector general of the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security.
