Khairpur Taluka (Sindhi : خيرپور) is an administrative subdivision of Khairpur District in the Sindh province of Pakistan, it is administratively subdivided into 24 Union Councils one of which form the capital, Khairpur. [1]
Sindhi is an Indo-Aryan language of the historical Sindh region in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, spoken by the Sindhi people. It is the official language of the Pakistani province of Sindh. In India, Sindhi is one of the scheduled languages officially recognized by the central government, though Sindhi is not an official language of any of the states in India.

Khairpur District is a district in the Pakistani province of Sindh in Sukkur Division. At the 2017 census, it was the fifth most populated district in the province after four districts of Karachi city, with 2.4 million inhabitants. The headquarters of the district is the city of Khairpur. The district is further divided into eight sub-districts:Khairpur Taluka, Mirwah Taluka, Kot Diji Taluka, Kingri Taluka, Sobho Dero Taluka, Gambat Taluka, Faiz Ganj Taluka and Nara Taluka.
Sind was a province of British India from 1936 to 1947 and Pakistan from 1947 to 1955. Under the British, it encompassed the current territorial limits excluding the princely state of Khairpur with the capital at Karachi. After Pakistan's creation, the province lost the city of Karachi, as it became the capital of the newly created country.
The State of Khairpur, also transliterated as Khairpur or Khayrpur, was a princely state of British India on the Indus River in modern-day Sindh, Pakistan, with its capital city at Khairpur. The state was counted amongst the Rajputana states to the east. It was later a Princely state of Pakistan from 1947 until its end in 1955. after that it was merged as a substitute under one unit into west Pakistan.
