The National Front is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 82 seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) with 74 seats.
Dato' Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar bin Jamaluddin is a Malaysian politician and engineer who has served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) state administrations under Menteris Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Saarani Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH state administration in March 2020 and again since November 2022 as well as Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Rapat since May 2018. He served as the 10th Menteri Besar of Perak from March 2008 to the collapse of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state administration in February 2009, MLA for Changkat Jering from May 2013 to May 2018, for Pasir Panjang from March 2008 to May 2013 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bukit Gantang from April 2009 to May 2013. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of the PH coalition and was a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a former component party of the PR coalition. He is also presently the sole Perak AMANAH MLA.
David Nga Kor Ming is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Local Government Development in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022. He served as Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat under former Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof from July 2018 to his resignation in July 2020. He was also a member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state administration under former Menteri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin from March 2008 to the collapse of the administration in February 2009. He has also served as the Member of Parliament for Teluk Intan since May 2018 and for Taiping from March 2008 to May 2018. He has been a Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly for Kepayang from May 2013 to May 2018, and again since November 2022, for Aulong from May 2018 to November 2022, and for Pantai Remis from November 1999 to March 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH coalition. He has also served as National Vice Chairman and 3rd Parliamentary Leader of DAP since March 2022, and State Chairman of DAP of Perak. He served as Deputy Secretary-General of DAP from November 2017 to March 2022.
Sivakumar s/o Varatharaju Naidu, better known as V. Sivakumar, is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Human Resources in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Batu Gajah since May 2013. He served as Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tronoh from March 2008 to May 2013. He also served as Speaker of the assembly from April 2008 to May 2009. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) opposition coalitions. He has also served as the Deputy Secretary-General of DAP since November 2017. He is also presently the sole minister of Indian ethnicity.
Mahdzir bin Khalid is a Malaysian politician and teacher who served as the Minister of Rural Development in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of BN administration in November 2022, Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water in the BN administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Maximus Ongkili from May 2013 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018, Chairman of the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) from May 2020 to October 2021, Member of Parliament (MP) for Padang Terap from May 2013 to November 2022, the 9th Menteri Besar of Kedah from December 2005 to March 2008, Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) from March 2004 to his promotion to Menteri Besar in December 2005 and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pedu from March 2004 to May 2013. He is a Member of the Supreme Council and Division Chief of Padang Terap of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as the State Chairman of UMNO of Kedah since March 2023. He also served as the Vice President of UMNO from June 2018 to his defeat in the party elections in March 2023.
Zambry bin Abdul Kadir is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Senator since December 2022. He served as the Non-independent and Non-executive Chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) from August 2020 to December 2022, State Leader of the Opposition of Perak briefly from July 2018 to August 2018, 11th Menteri Besar of Perak from February 2009 to May 2018, Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteri Besar Tajol Rosli Mohd Ghazali from March 2004 to the collapse of the BN state administration in March 2008 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pangkor from March 2004 to November 2022. He is a member of the Supreme Council and Division Chief of Lumut of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as the Secretary-General of BN since June 2021.

He served as the Minister of Home Affairs for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities and Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government in the BN administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from March 2008 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018 as well as Senator from September 2000 to September 2006. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has also served as Secretary-General of both BERSATU and PN since March 2020.
Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi is a Malaysian politician who has served Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development since December 2022. A member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), he has served as its leader and the chairman of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition since May 2018. Zahid has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan Datuk since April 1995.
Ahmad Faizal bin Azumu, nicknamed Peja, is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration for only 11 days in August 2021, 12th and 13th Menteri Besar of Perak from May 2018 to his resignation and collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration in March 2020 and again from March 2020 to his resignation again and the collapse of the PN state administration in December 2020. He also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tambun and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Chenderiang from May 2018 to November 2022. He is a member, Deputy President and State Chairman of Perak as well as Pahang of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the ruling PN coalition at the federal level and former component party of the PH opposition coalition at both the federal and state levels. He has also served as the 2nd State Chairman of PN of Negeri Sembilan since May 2023. He was the State Chairman of PH of Perak. He was one of the only two Menteris Besar of Malaysia who has ruled in two state administrations of two different and opposing political coalitions, which were PH state administration from May 2018 to his resignation and its collapse in March 2020 and PN state administration from March 2020 to his resignation and its collapse in December 2020.
The 14th Perak State election was held on 9 May 2018. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. Each of the state assemblymen are elected to a five year term each.

Saarani bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician and teacher who has served as 14th Menteri Besar of Perak since December 2020 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kota Tampan since March 2004. He served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administrations under former Menteris Besar Tajol Rosli Mohd Ghazali and Zambry Abdul Kadir from March 2004 to the collapse of the BN state administration in March 2008 and from February 2009 to another collapse in May 2018 and again in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under former Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu briefly from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in December 2020, State Leader of the Opposition of Perak from August 2018 to March 2020 as well as the MLA for Lenggong from November 1999 to March 2004. He is a member of the Supreme Council and Division Chief of Lenggong of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He is also the State Chairman of BN and UMNO of Perak.

He served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under former Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH state administration in March 2020 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Simpang Pulai from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition. He has also served as the State Vice Chairman of PKR of Perak since January 2019 and also served as the State Youth Chief of PKR of Perak.

The 2022 Perak state election, formally the 15th Perak state election, took place on 19 November 2022. This election was to elect 59 members of the 15th Perak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 17 October 2022.
