Khanqah Sharif is a city situated west of Bahawalpur District. It is famous for the Shrine of Khawaja Mohkum ud Deen Serani. There are two shrines of Khawaja Serani. One in Khanqah Sharif, Pakistan and other in India. Saraiki is the major language. Urdu, English, Punjabi and Pushto are also spoken. Ahmadpur East or Ahmadpur Sharqia is one of the five tehsils, or administrative subdivisions, of Bahawalpur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Its capital is Ahmadpur East. With approximately 1 million inhabitants, it is the largest tehsil in terms of population in Pakistan. The main language spoken in the region is Saraiki. Urdu And Punjabi are also spoken. Urdu and English are the official languages used in various educational and government institutions.
A khanqah or khaniqah, also known as a ribat (رباط) – among other terms – is a building designed specifically for gatherings of a Sufi brotherhood or tariqa and is a place for spiritual retreat and character reformation. In the past, and to a lesser extent nowadays, they often served as hospices for saliks, Murids (initiates) and talibs. Khanqahs are very often found adjoined to dargahs, mosques and madrasas.

Meher Ali Shah, was a Sufi scholar from British India belonging to the Chishti order. He is known as a Hanafi scholar leading the anti-Ahmadiyya movement. He wrote several books, most notably Saif e Chishtiyai, a polemical work criticizing the Ahmadiyya movement of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, since August 2018. Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly from 1993 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2018 and till date. Khawaja Sufi Muhammad Azmat Ullah Shah was a renowned Sufi spiritual leader and a retired Colonel of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He was the son and mureed (follower) of the eminent Khawaja Faqeer Sufi Muhammad Naqeeb Ullah Shah, and later became the leader of the Naqeebi spiritual chain, Silsila Aliya Naqeebiya. He practised and taught Islam through the simplest, yet most practical ways and was known for his unrivalled promotion of discipline, love and peace, through enlightening individuals to find and realise their true selves. He regularly emphasised that those who could not love, respect and thank other fellow human beings could not love, respect and thank Allah.
