Khawaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya, also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, Sultan-ul-Mashaikh and Mahbub-e-Ilahi, was an Indian Sunni Muslim scholar, Sufi saint of the Chishti Order, and is one of the most famous Sufis from the Indian Subcontinent. His predecessors were Fariduddin Ganjshakar, Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki, and Moinuddin Chishti, who were the masters of the Chishti spiritual chain or silsila in the Indian subcontinent.
A dargah is a shrine or tomb built over the grave of a revered religious figure, often a Sufi saint or dervish. Sufis often visit the shrine for ziyarat, a term associated with religious visitation and pilgrimages. Dargahs are often associated with Sufi eating and meeting rooms and hostels, called khanqah or hospices. Mast Gul, , is a Pakistani based terrorist who was operating in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir during 1995. Gul is also accused for carrying out "2014 Peshawar hotel attack". He is a resident of Khawaja town of Peshawar. He, along with his associates, entered the Charar-e-Sharief shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali at Charar-i-Sharief in 1995. To avoid any damage to holy Shrine, he was offered a safe passage by India Administration, which he refused. All holed up militants started building bunkers inside the town which resulted in migration of all inhabitants of Charar-i-Sharief to different areas of Kashmir valley. The town was cracked down by Indian troopers for almost a month with no results. With the result, Gul and his associated got concentrated inside Shrine and Khanqah. During intervening night of 11 and 12 May 1995, shrine and Khanqah mysteriously caught fire, forcing holed up militants to come out in open. Gul managed to escape unhurt and was spotted in Pakistan Administered Kashmir.
Khawaja Sufi Muhammad Azmat Ullah Shah was a renowned Sufi spiritual leader and a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He was the son and mureed (follower) of the eminent Khawaja Faqeer Sufi Muhammad Naqeeb Ullah Shah, and later became the leader of the Naqeebi spiritual chain, Silsila Aliya Naqeebiya. He practised and taught Islam through the simplest, yet most practical ways and was known for his unrivalled promotion of discipline, love and peace, through enlightening individuals to find and realise their true selves. He regularly emphasised that those who could not love, respect and thank other fellow human beings could not love, respect and thank Allah.
Syed Nadir Ali Shah, popularly known as Murshid Nadir Ali Shah, was a Sufi saint of the Qalandariyya Sufi order of Islam, a Muslim preacher, ascetic, mystic, philanthropist and humanitarian. Born in Gandaf in the north-west of the Indian subcontinent, he eventually settled in Sehwan Sharif, Sindh. He was a spiritual descendant of the well-regarded Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and the custodian of the revered Sufi Khanqah, Kafi Sakhi Sarwar located in Sehwan Sharif. Nadir Ali Shah's legacy primarily revolves around his distinction as one of the most remarkable figures among the saints of the Qalandariyya Sufi order. He is renowned for his pursuits in Islamic preaching, mysticism, and asceticism. Beyond his spiritual contributions, he is recognized for his substantial efforts in advancing human welfare and uplifting the underprivileged, in line with the teachings of the Qalandariyya Sufi order of Islam. Notably, he also served as the custodian of the shrine of the Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi.
