Khavaran is an under-construction residential borough situated in the city of Tabriz and in the jurisdiction of the District 9 Submunicipality. The borough will be considered the most modern Iranian residential borough. [1]

Beginning of construction

About twenty years after acquiring the lands of the Khavaran borough, [2] construction of the borough began officially on December 6, 2010. [3]

Mass constructors of the chamber of commerce of Antalya Province, Turkey have also announced their willingness to invest in the borough. [4]

Features

The predicted population for habitation in the Khavaran borough is 160 thousand people and its area is announced 820 hectares. The construction pattern of the Khavaran borough is different from the general texture of the city of Tabriz; and the residential units will be founded in sizes bigger than 320 meters as villas. The Tehran-Tabriz Freeway will also pass beside the borough. [5]

For the first time in Iran, a common tunnel will be founded for the uses of the water supply, electricity, gas and telecommunication companies in the Khavaran borough. [6]

While the number of the floors is determined by the width of passage, parking supply and open space in the city of Tabriz, the number of the floors of a building is determined by the areas of the sectors in the Khavaran borough. Meanwhile, there is no passage shorter than 12 meters in the borough. [7]

With an area of 820 hectares, the borough connects to the Basmenj road in the north, the Tabriz-Tehran Highway in the south, the Zarnaq road in the east and the Kasayi and Payambar-e Aazam Freeways in the west. The Khavaran borough consists of 350 hectares the Khavaran borough itself, 320 hectares of Azaran and 120 hectares the white spot (the Fathabad lands); and the village of Fathabad itself is situated inside the borough and is part of the Municipal District 9 domain. In 1976, the company known as AFFA was created for the design of the Aryamehr Stadium which after the Iranian Revolution in 1979 was renamed to Azadi Stadium.

Roughly one-third of Iran's total surface area is suitable for farmland, but because of poor soil and a lack of adequate water distribution in many areas, most of it is not under cultivation. Only 12% of the total land area is under cultivation but less than one-third of the cultivated area is irrigated; the rest is devoted to dryland farming. The construction industry of Iran is divided into two main sections. The first is government infrastructure projects, which are central for the cement industry. The second is the housing industry. In recent years, the construction industry has been thriving due to an increase in national and international investment to the extent that it is now the largest in the Middle East region. The Central Bank of Iran indicate that 70 percent of the Iranians own homes, with huge amounts of idle money entering the housing market. Iran has three shopping malls among the largest shopping malls in the world. Iran Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world, located in Tehran. The annual turnover in the construction industry amounts to US$38.4 billion. The real estate sector contributed to 5% of GDP in 2008. Statistics from March 2004 to March 2005 put the number of total Iranian households at 15.1 million and the total number of dwelling units at 13.5 million, signifying a demand for at least 5.1 million dwelling units. Every year there is a need for 750,000 additional units as young couples embark on married life. At present, 2000 units are being built every day although this needs to increase to 2740 units. Iran's construction market will expand to $154.4 billion in 2016 from $88.7 billion in 2013.

According to the Fourth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2005–2010), the Privatization Organization of Iran affiliated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance is in charge of setting prices and ceding shares to the general public and on the Tehran Stock Exchange. The privatization effort is primarily backed by reformist members of the Iranian government and society who hope that privatization can bring about economic and social change.

The government of Dubai took a decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented. This has made real estate and other developments more valuable, thus resulting in a property boom from 2004 to 2006. Construction on a large scale has turned Dubai into one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. There are a number of large-scale projects which are currently under construction or are to be constructed in the future. Due to the heavy construction which is taking place in Dubai, 30,000 construction cranes, which are 25% of cranes worldwide, are operating in Dubai. Due to the burst of construction, Dubai has acquired various building-related records, which include: the world's tallest tower, the world's largest shopping mall, the world's largest fountain and the world's tallest hotel. Also under construction is Dubailand, which will be almost twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Eurovea is a business, retail and residential complex in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the Pribinova Zone at the border of Old Town and the borough or Ružinov, between the Old Bridge and the Apollo Bridge, bordered by Pribinova street from the north and the river Danube from the south. Eurovea connects the Bratislava Riverfront with the city center and offers stores and leisure time facilities while housing businesses, apartments and a Sheraton hotel. Phase I of the Eurovea complex was developed by Ballymore Properties at the cost of €350 million and it opened after four years of construction in 2010.

Water supply and sanitation in Iran has witnessed some important improvements, especially in terms of increased access to urban water supply, while important challenges remain, particularly concerning sanitation and service provision in rural areas. Institutionally, the Ministry of Energy is in charge of policy and provincial companies are in charge of service provision.

Ghadir Investment Company was established in 1991 in Iran and entered to the "Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE)" in 1995. Its activities are managing or restructuring Iranian companies on behalf of its share holders. GHADIR is one of the biggest holding investment company in the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) with a market capitalization of 97,416 billion Iranian Rials as of 2017.

Gostaresh Foulad Tabriz Football Club was an Iranian football club based in Tabriz, Iran. The club was founded in 2008. They were promoted to Persian Gulf Pro League in the 2012–13 season. In 2018, the club's ownership was moved to Amir Hossein Alagheband and the club moved to Urmia.

Century City is a 3.4-hectare (8.4-acre) mixed-use development in Makati, Philippines being developed by Century Properties. Several of the Philippines' upscale and tallest buildings, namely The Gramercy Residences, The Milano Residences, The Knightsbridge Residences, and Trump Tower Manila are located here, as well as the 17,000-square-meter (180,000 sq ft) Century City Mall. Once completed, the ₱40 billion Century City complex will comprise an office building for business process outsourcing and corporate companies, four luxury residential towers, a mixed-use building, a mall, and an IT Hospital.

Saqqez Airport, sometimes called Saghez Airport, is a domestic airport near Saqqez located in the province of Kurdistan in Iran. The airport has been newly constructed for the use of the people of the northern cities of Kurdistan province and the southern cities of West Azerbaijan, especially the free trade zones of Baneh and Marivan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2016–17 Hazfi Cup</span> Football tournament season

The 2016–17 Hazfi Cup was the 30th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Zob Ahan Isfahan, the defending champions, were eliminated by Tractor Sazi in the semi-final in extra time. The competition started on 12 September 2016, and the final was played on 11 May 2017. Naft Tehran defeated Tractor Sazi in the final, earning their first title.
