Alvar-e Olya (Persian : الوارعليا‎, also Romanized as Alvār-e ‘Olyā; also known as Alvār, Alvār-e Bālā, Alvār Yūkhārī, Malyy Al’var, and Yūkhārī Alvār)^[1] is a village in Aji Chay Rural District, in the Central District of Tabriz County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 1,309, in 357 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Aji Chay Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Tabriz County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 33,818, in 7,942 families. The rural district has 10 villages.
