Zarnaq (Persian : زرنق‎)^[1] is a village in Meydan Chay Rural District, in the Central District of Tabriz County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 2,036, in 542 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Meydan Chay Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Tabriz County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 51,733, in 13,066 families; excluding Malek Kian, the population in 2006 was 50,667, in 12,797 families. The rural district has 22 villages.
