Khunik-e Pain (Persian : خونيك پائين‎, also Romanized as Khūnīk-e Pā’īn; also known as Khūnīk, Khonik Sofla, Khūng Soflá, and Khūnīk-e Soflá)^[1] is a village in Neh Rural District, in the Central District of Nehbandan County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 215, in 65 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Neh Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Nehbandan County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 11,478, in 2,769 families. The rural district has 64 villages.
