Kim Chul (born 11 July 1980) is a South Korean field hockey player who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics. [1]
South Korea,as Korea,competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles,United States. The nation returned to the Summer Games after participating in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. 175 competitors,116 men and 59 women,took part in 97 events in 19 sports. As the country hosted the next Olympics in Seoul,a traditional Korean segment was performed at the closing ceremony.
South Korea competed as Korea at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona,Spain. 226 competitors,154 men and 72 women,took part in 134 events in 24 sports.

He defeated South Korea's Kim Min-Chul for a gold medal in the 66 kg division at the 2005 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest,Hungary,in addition to his bronze from the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku,Azerbaijan. He is also a two-time Olympian,a double European wrestling champion,and a member of Slavia Litex Wrestling Club in Sofia,under his personal coach Bratan Tzenov. Because of his further successes in wrestling,Gergov was selected as one of eleven athletes for the Bulgarian Sports Personality Award in 2007.

He defeated Uzbekistan's Ravshan Ruzikulov for a gold medal in the 66 kg division at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha,Qatar. He also captured a silver medal at the 2005 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest,Hungary,losing out to Bulgaria's Nikolay Gergov in 66 kg tournament. Kim is a member of the wrestling team for Sung Shin Company Sportsclub,and is coached and trained by Kim Sung-Moon.
