Roger McBride, better known by his stage name King T, is an American West Coast Hip hop rapper from Compton, California. Emerging as one of Compton's earliest hip hop artists, he was signed to Capitol Records, where he released his debut album Act a Fool in 1988 with the hit singles "Act a Fool," "Payback's A Mutha," "The Coolest," and "Bass” [Remix], all of which were considered hip-hop classics. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he worked primarily with producer DJ Pooh, and was responsible for the rise of Tha Alkaholiks, whom he helped guide into the rap game. King T is also the CEO of his own record label, King T Inc.

Wendell Timothy Fite, also known as DJ Hurricane is an American hip hop DJ, producer and rapper. He is best known for his work with the Beastie Boys. He was a member of the groups Solo Sounds and The Afros and recorded three solo albums, featuring many well-known artists such as Xzibit, Public Enemy, Kool G Rap, Black Thought, Papoose and Talib Kweli.

He got his big break when he became a producer for Dr. Dre's newly founded record label Aftermath Entertainment, and then went on to work with Snoop Dogg's record label Dogghouse Records and became a known producer on Tha Dogg Pound-affiliated material. During this time he also was a producer for Snoop Doggs track: Riders on the storm Ft The Doors on EA's Need for Speed Underground 2. He has produced tracks from Kurupt's Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha and most of his next release, Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey; both released during the period the rapper had left Death Row Records. Considered to have been originated in 1992 when King Tee introduced Tha Alkaholiks trio, composed of members E-Swift, J-Ro and Tash, on the lead single "Got It Bad Y'all" from his third studio album Tha Triflin' Album.

Act a Fool is the debut studio album by American West Coast hip hop artist King Tee. It was released on November 15, 1988 via Capitol Records. Production was handled by DJ Pooh and King Tee himself, with Tim Devine as executive producer. It features guest appearances from M.C. Breeze, Mixmaster Spade and Prince Ezzy-E. The album peaked at number 125 on the US Billboard 200 chart and number 35 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States. Its title track reached #26 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, and "Bass", which is remixed on this album, reached #19 on the same chart.

It also features guest appearances provided by Ice Cube and Breeze on the album's final track "Played Like a Piano". The album spawned four singles: "Ruff Rhyme ", "Diss You", "At Your Own Risk" and "Played Like a Piano", which were later included on the rapper's greatest hits album titled Ruff Rhymes: Greatest Hits Collection.

Tha Triflin' Album is the third studio album by West Coast hip hop artist King Tee. It was released on January 26, 1993, via Capitol Records. Recording sessions took place in 1992 in California. Production was handled by nine record producers, including DJ Pooh, DJ Aladdin, Bobcat, Marley Marl, Tha Alkaholiks, Broadway, SLJ, Mr. Woody, and King T himself. It also features guest appearances from Ice Cube, Deadly Threat, Nefretitti, Mad Kap, and Tha Alkaholiks. The album spawned two singles: "Got It Bad Y'all" and "Black Togetha Again". Both singles were later included on King Tee's greatest hits compilation Ruff Rhymes: Greatest Hits Collection. The album peaked at number 95 on the US Billboard 200 and number 17 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The success of this album is quite significant as it allowed King Tee's protégés, Tha Alkaholiks, to gain a following. It also provided a foundation for King Tee's Likwit Crew.

Production was handled by several record producers, including DJ Pooh, Moe Love, TR Love, Grand Mixer DXT, E-Swift, DJ Broadway, Mark Sparks, Rashad, Thayod, Da Mic Profesah, Nikke Nicole, SLJ, and King Tee himself. The album spawned three singles: "Dippin'"/"Duck", "Way Out There"/"Super Nigga" and "Free Style Ghetto"/"Let's Get It On", but only "Dippin'" made it to Billboard charts, reaching number 46 on the Hot Rap Songs.

Ruff Rhymes: Greatest Hits Collection is a greatest hits album by West Coast hip hop artist King Tee. It was released by Capitol Records in 1998, three years after King Tee's last album. It contains tracks from each of King Tee's first three albums, all of which were released by Capitol Records. It contains no tracks from Tee's fourth album, IV Life, which was released on MCA Records. King Tee was dropped by Capitol before this album's release so he had no say in which tracks would be put on it. Only three tracks on this compilation, "Bass", "Ya Better Bring a Gun", and "Can This Be Real?", are not on any of King Tee's other albums. The compilation's name is a reference to King Tee's most successful charting song, "Ruff Rhyme ".

AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted is the debut studio album by American rapper Ice Cube, released on May 18, 1990, by Priority Records. It was his first solo album, after an acrimonious split from his former group N.W.A. Primarily produced by Public Enemy's production team the Bomb Squad, the album was a critical and commercial success, being certified platinum in the United States for selling over one million copies.

Morgan Rodriguez, professionally known by his stage name MC Breeze, is an American rapper from Los Angeles. He released his only studio album, T.Y.S.O.N. , in 1989 via Atlantic Records. The album, which was produced by the L.A. Posse, made it to number 60 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The record spawned two singles: "Great Big Freak" and "L.A. Posse". The latter peaked at No. 79 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, No. 8 on the US Hot Rap Songs, and later was ranked at No. 64 by Complex's list of The 100 Best L.A. Rap Songs.
