Kintu Musoke (born 8 May 1938) is a Ugandan politician,closely associated with President Yoweri Museveni. [1] He served as Prime Minister of Uganda from 18 November 1994 to 5 April 1999. [2] He was later appointed to head a task force on fighting AIDS in Uganda. [3] He also serves as an Advisor to the President of Uganda. [4]
Kintu Musoke was born in Masaka District to Yafeesi Kintu and Eseza Nassiwa on 8 May 1938. He attended Kabungo Native Anglican Church School and Buwere Primary School. He transferred to Kings College Budo for his O-Level and A-Level education. He holds he degree of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science,Philosophy and Journalism,obtained from Delhi University in India. [1]
Following his graduation from university in 1963,he returned to Uganda and entered politics as a UPC youth mobilizer. In 1965,he was expelled from the party together with the other members belonging to a faction led by the UPC's Secretary General John Kakonge. He then abstained from politics until 1980,when he participated in the formation of the Uganda Patriotic Movement,which eventually morphed into the National Resistance Movement. During his lifetime,he has worked with several newspapers,including Uganda Eyogera, Uganda Argus ,The African Pilot and Weekly Topic . [1]
The History of Uganda from 1979 to 1986 comprises the history of Uganda since the end of the dictatorship of Idi Amin. This period has seen the second rule of Milton Obote and the presidency of Yoweri Museveni since 1986,in which Ugandan politics have been dominated by the National Resistance Movement.

Warren Kizza Besigye Kifefe,known as Colonel Dr. Kizza Besigye,is a Ugandan physician,politician,and former military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Force. He served as the president of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) political party and was an unsuccessful candidate in Uganda's 2001,2006,2011,and 2016 presidential elections,losing all of them to the incumbent,Yoweri Museveni,who has been president of Uganda since 26 January 1986. The results of the 2006 elections were contested in court,and the court found massive rigging and disenfranchisement. Besigye allowed an early internal FDC election for a successor president,which took place on 24 November 2012.
Aggrey Siryoyi Awori was a Ugandan economist,politician and Olympic hurdler,who served as Minister for Information and Communications Technology in the Cabinet of Uganda from 16 February 2009 to 27 May 2011. Prior to that,he represented Samia-Bugwe North,Busia District in the Ugandan Parliament from 2001 until 2006. Awori was an outspoken opposition member of parliament for the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) political party. In 2007,he abandoned the UPC and joined the ruling National Resistance Movement.
Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya is a Ugandan politician and physician who was the seventh vice president of Uganda from 23 May 2003 until 23 May 2011. He has represented the constituency of Busiro County North in the Ugandan Parliament since 1996. His autobiography,Intricate Corridors to Power,was published in 2008.
John Patrick Amama Mbabazi,SC is a Ugandan politician who served as the ninth Prime Minister of Uganda from 24 May 2011 to 19 September 2014. Tarsis Bazana Kabwegyere is a Ugandan sociologist,academic and politician. He is the former minister of general duties,Office of the Prime Minister in the Ugandan cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 23 May 2013. Before that,from 15 August 2012 until 23 May 2013,he was the minister of gender,labour and social affairs. At first,the parliamentary committee vetting cabinet appointments rejected his selection,but after discussions between President Yoweri Museveni and Speaker Rebecca Kadaga,he was finally approved on 7 September 2012. Earlier,he was the minister of disaster relief and planning in the Ugandan cabinet,from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011,he was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Stephen Mallinga. He was also the elected member of parliament representing Igara County West,Bushenyi District,from 1996 until 2011.
Major General Kahinda Otafiire is a Ugandan politician and retired military officer. He is the current Minister of Internal Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda,since 8 June 2021.
Ephraim Kamuntu is a Ugandan management scientist and politician. He is the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 14 December 2019. Previously he served as Minister of Water and Environment from August 2012 to June 2016. He is also an ex-officio Member of the Parliament of Uganda because of his Cabinet position.

Jaberi Bidandi Ssali,also Bidandi Ssali,is a Ugandan politician and businessman. He is the founder of the People's Progressive Party in Uganda and served as its president. He was also the Minister for Local Government from 1989 to 2004,and an unsuccessful candidate in the 2011 general election. During Idi Amin's regime in the 1970s,Bidandi Ssali worked as a football manager.
George Michael Mukula,commonly known as Mike Mukula,is a Ugandan politician,professional pilot,and businessman. He represented Soroti Municipality from 1996 to 2016 in the parliament of Uganda. He is a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement and served as state minister of health from 2001 to 2006. He is the current Vice Chairman for the ruling National Resistance Movement in Uganda
Gabriel Gadison Ajedra Aridru is a Ugandan civil engineer and politician. He was the State Minister of Finance for General Duties in the Cabinet of Uganda,from 6 June 2016 until 3 May 2021. Prior to that,from 12 August 2012,until 6 June 2016,he served as the State Minister of Finance for Investments.
