The main parties in the state are the Telugu Desam Party (TDP),Jana Sena Party (JSP),and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Other parties that have small presence in the state include the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),Indian National Congress (INC),and Left parties,including both Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India (CPI).

Kanna Lakshminarayana,is an Indian politician,ex President Bharatiya Janata Party in the state of Andhra Pradesh and ex-Member of the Legislative Assembly for Guntur West constituency and ex-Cabinet Minister for Agriculture &Agriculture Technology Mission in Sri. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy's Cabinet. He joined the Telugu Desam Party on 23 February 2023 at Mangalagiri TDP's headquarters. He is currently the member of the 16th Andhra Pradesh Assembly from Sattenapalle Assembly constituency.
Jai Samaikyandhra Party was an Indian political party launched by former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh,Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy. He launched the party in protest against Government of India's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh through Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill. Its poll plank is self-respect of Telugu people. The party was formally launched at a public meeting in Rajahmundry on 12 March 2014,and promised rollback of Telangana state in the event of JSP winning 25 seats. Its electoral symbol is a pair of slippers. In elections the party failed to win a single seat and lost deposits in many seats. Finally the party dissolved on 13 July 2018 and Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy re-joined INC.

Reddy was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Indian National Congress from Pileru Assembly constituency till 2009 And Punganur Assembly constituency till 2014,Later From YSR Congress Party for the Punganur Assembly constituency till now. He won the 2009 elections from Punganur Assembly constituency and was appointed the Forest Minister in Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ministry. Post the death of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy,he quit the ministerial post citing differences with Kiran Kumar Reddy,the later Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. In 2013,he joined YSR Congress Party. He later won 2014 elections and 2019 elections.
