An air-cushioned landing craft, also called an LCAC, is a modern variation on the amphibious landing boat. The Type 724 Landing Craft Air-Cushion (LCAC) is the first indigenous air cushion landing craft in operational use with People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), and it origin dates all the way back in the early 1960s, when 7th Academy was assigned to lead the developmental work on air cushioned vehicles for a 10-year plan lasting from 1963 to 1972. Two projects developed from this research work, and Type 724 LCAC is the direct descendant of these two research projects.
The LACV-30 was a hovercraft used by the U.S. Army Mobility Equipment Research and Development Command (MERADCOM) for offloading cargo from amphibious ships. For logistic transport, the Army was already using the LARC-V and LARC-LX, huge 4-wheeled vehicles referred to as 'barges on wheels'. The Army used the LACV-30 to transport 20 ft. standard MILVAN containers as well as outsize loads that would not fit on a LARC-V or LARC-LX. MERADCOM operated 24 LACV-30s between 1983 and 1994.

Nelin got into second place three times and third place five times at the Three-Cushion World Cup from 1995 to 2000. He placed second place at the UMB World Three-cushion Championship in 2002. Nelin was preferred as a best ranked player in Danish, according to the cited Kozoom article. Dan Johansen had helped out Nelin. He spend his summer with a working job, in which Nelin was participant of the Danish Championship.
