Twelve national teams competed in the women's field hockey tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Sixteen players were officially enrolled in each team. David McNeill is an Australian long-distance runner. He was selected for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, McNeill finished 8th in his heat of the Men's 5000m in a time of 13:39.97. He was therefore eliminated.

Valerie Jane Beddoe, is an Australian former diver who competed in the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympics, and in three Commonwealth Games. She won a gold medal in the 10m platform at the 1982 Commonwealth Games, having taken silver in the event in 1978. In her title defence in 1986, she came second behind Canada's Debbie Fuller to claim her second Commonwealth silver medal.

Taylor McKeown is a former Australian competitive swimmer. She won a gold medal in the 200 metre breaststroke at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and a silver medal at the 4 × 100 m medley relay during the 2016 Summer Olympics. McKeown also represented Australia in both the 100m breaststroke, and 200m breaststroke, qualifying fastest for the final and finishing in 5th in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is a University of Sunshine Coast student.
