The 11019 / 11020 Konark Express was one of the classless Superfast trains introduced by Shri Madhu Dandavate in 1978 as a daily service between (SC) Secunderabad and Bhubaneshwar (BBS). It used to run with train No 2119/2120 and shared rake with the 2101/2102 Minar Superfast Express which used to operate between Secunderabad and Bombay VT (now CSMT). This train initially had the Navy-Blue livery with a white strip above its windows due to this rake sharing arrangement. With increase in demand of an exclusive train between Bombay and Bhubaneshwar, this train was extended up to Bombay VT in 1994 thus ending the rake sharing arrangement between 2101/2102 Minar Express (which was later replaced by the 2701/02 Hussainsagar Express). After extension this train was renumbered as 1019/1020 in 1994. It is one of the oldest trains connecting the eastern and western states of the country. Currently operating as 11019/11020, it connects Mumbai CSMT [formerly Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai (CSTM)] to Bhubaneshwar (BBS).

The total distance traveled is 1,932 km (1,200 mi). It covers about 1,066 km (662 mi) in the state of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh (present Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) itself.

  1. Between Mumbai CSMT and Solapur, it was hauled by WDP-4D locomotive of Pune shed (earlier it used to be hauled with WDP-4D of Kalyan shed).
  2. Between Solapur and Visakhapatnam, it was hauled by a WAP-7 / WAP-4 of Lallaguda shed or Vijayawada shed.
  3. Between Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar, it was hauled by a WAP-7 / WAP-4 of Visakhapatnam shed.


  1. Between Mumbai CSMT and Vijayawada, it is hauled by a WAP-7 of Kalyan shed or Lallaguda shed.
  2. Between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, it is hauled by a WAP-7 of Lallaguda shed.
  3. Between Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar, it is hauled by a WAP-7 of Visakhapatnam shed.

The 12123 / 12124 Deccan Queen is a daily Indian passenger train service operated by the Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways connecting the cities of Mumbai and Pune. Introduced on June 1, 1930, the Deccan Queen was India's "first superfast train, first long-distance electric-hauled train, first vestibuled train, the first train to have a ‘women-only’ car, and the first train to feature a dining car". The 12805 / 12806 Janmabhoomi Express is an InterCity service of Indian Railways that travels from Lingampalli to Visakhapatnam. It was first introduced between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Jn. It was later extended up to Tenali Jn and then the Nagarjuna Express was cancelled and thus made the Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad Janmabhoomi Express via Tenali Junction, and now it is extended from Secunderabad Junction to Lingampalli. It is an express service that travels in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The train travels at an average speed of 55 km/h and uses a WDP4D of Gooty from Lingampalli to Tenali Jn then switches to a WAP4 of Erode from Tenali Jn to Vishakapatnam Jn. The Secunderabad–Shalimar Express is a Superfast AC Express train of the Indian Railways connecting Secunderabad (SC) to Kolkata Shalimar (SHM). It is handled by the South Central Railway zone (SCR). The train was announced in the 2012 Annual Railway Budget of India and its rake was rolled out in September 2012. The train stops at 14 stations en route, connecting major cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Kharagpur. The train runs weekly. The train was flagged off from Secunderabad on 28 May 2013 at 11:00 am by Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy, the then Minister of State of Railways and Anjan Kumar Yadav, an MP from Secunderabad.

The Secunderabad–Visakhapatnam Express is a Superfast Express AC express train of the Indian Railways running between Secunderabad (SC) and Visakhapatnam (VSKP). It is handled by the South Central Railway (SCR). The train was announced in the 2014 Railway budget of India and it uses the rake of Secunderabad–Shalimar Express. The train stops at 13 stations en route, connecting major cities like Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru and Rajahmundry. The train runs weekly and is the first LHB AC train to be introduced on this route. The train was flagged off from Secunderabad on at 11:15 am on 19 January 2015 by Minister of State of Railways Suresh Prabhu. The locomotive links for this train have not been fixed yet but often the train is hauled by a Lallaguda-based WAP-7 or WAP-4 locomotive between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. The Silchar–Secunderabad Express is a Superfast Express train operated by Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways that runs between Silchar, Assam and Secunderabad, Telangana via Guwahati. The train is currently being operated with 12513/12514 numbers on a weekly basis. Earlier this train was run between Guwahati and Secunderabad. From 21 October 2023, the train is being extended up to Silchar.

The Vijayawada railway division in the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways administers the train.

<i>Andhra Pradesh Express</i> Train in India

The 20805 / 20806 Andhra Pradesh Express is a daily Superfast Express train that connects the national capital of India, New Delhi, to the largest city of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam. The express is administered under Indian Railways's South Coast Railway Zone with the service numbers 20805 and 20806. The train service was first commissioned by then Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on 12 August 2015 as Andhra Pradesh AC Express. Later in the year 2020 Non-AC Sleeper Coaches were attached to this train which renamed this train as Andhra Pradesh Express. This train is named after the state Andhra Pradesh, as previously when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states were combined, this train used to run from Hyderabad Deccan to New Delhi. When the Telangana state was bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh state, that train was renamed as Telangana Express and a new rake of LHB coach of Andhra Pradesh Express was started from Visakhapatnam.

Manuguru - Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus Kolhapur Express is an express train of the Indian Railways connecting Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus in Maharashtra and Manuguru of Telangana. It is currently being operated with 11303/11304 train numbers on a daily basis.
