Kore. Ydro. were [1] a rock/pop group from the Greek island of Corfu.
Kore. Ydro. (Greek : Κόρε. Ύδρο.) were formed in Corfu, Greece, during the autumn of 1993 by 15-year-old schoolmates Pantelis Dimitriadis, Giorgos Arvanitakis and Spiros Katagis. Konstantinos Amygdalos joined in 1997 and Spiros Katagis departed in 2000. Pianist/multi-instrumentalist Alexandros Makris joined in 2001, creating Kore. Ydro.’s music core with Dimitriadis.
Kore. Ydro.'s early output was "no-fi" home recordings of trash aesthetics, peculiar live performances, "raw" video clips and humorous short "films". Their self-produced official debut If All Ever Ended Here [An Ola Telionan Edo] was released in March 2003 by the Greek label Wipeout Records in 515 copies. The downloadable-only mini album Seven Months Later [Efta Mines Meta] followed seven months later.
February 2004 saw the release of the first official Kore. Ydro. video - also produced by the group - for the song "Your Kindness" [I Kalossini Sou], the highlight of If All Ever Ended Here.
In February 2006, three years after the release of the critically acclaimed [2] debut, Kore. Ydro. released Cheap Pop for the Elite [Ftini Pop ya tin Elit] (Greek : Φτηνή ποπ για την ελίτ) on a new label (Capitol/EMI).
The album's title referred to the self-proclaimed "new post-erotic, post-christian, post-communist, post-progressive, post-post-punk manifesto" of the band. The album was recorded ahead of the EMI contract in the group's home studio in Corfu by Dimitriadis, Makris and three new members: drummer Alexis Apostolidis and the guitarists Spiros Spirakos and Nickos Varotsis, exempting Arvanitakis and Amygdalos from their musical obligations and leaving them free to concentrate on the group’s visual arts activities which was always their main subject.
The record received enthusiastic reviews [3] [4] by the Greek music press and the first single/video (produced and directed by the band) "No More Affairs" [Ochi Pia Erotes] became an unexpected hit. [5]
In March 2006 Kore. Ydro. appeared live for the first time in Athens (Gagarin 205), while it had already been made official the collaboration of the group with bass player Panagiotis Diamantis, who directed the second video from Cheap Pop for the Elite, for the song "Now that I Do not Have Anyone" [Tora pou den Eho Kanenan] (June 2006). The band-directed video for “The Lovers of Nothing” [Oi Erastes tou Tipota] followed in November 2006. In the same month, Greek music magazine SONIK named Cheap Pop for the Elite “the most important Greek album of the decade up to now.” [6] Kore. Ydro. live appearances climaxed precisely one year after the release of CPftE with their second live in Gagarin 205 [February 2007] in front of a fanatic audience and with an impact that rendered the particular gig a peak in the band's history.
During 2008 all the lately recruited members left or were gradually alienated from the group. Since then Kore. Ydro. continue as a duo again, with the assistance of the visual arts duo Arvanitakis-Amygdalos and drummer Fivos Anthis. The third official Kore. Ydro. album The Whole Truth about the Children of '78 [Oli i Alithia ya ta Pedia tou ‘78] was released in April 2009 on CD by Capitol/EMI. A collector’s double LP edition followed three months later, on the independent Inner Ear.
The band's final album Simple Exercises on Existentialism [Aples Askisis Ston Iparksismo] was released in April 2013 by Inner Ear. [7] A year later, in 2014, the band broke up, as announced on their official website. [8]
Capitol Records, LLC is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Capitol Music Group imprint. It was founded as the first West Coast-based record label of note in the United States in 1942 by Johnny Mercer, Buddy DeSylva, and Glenn E. Wallichs. Capitol was acquired by British music conglomerate EMI as its North American subsidiary in 1955. Evridiki Theokleous, known professionally as simply Evridiki, is a Greek Cypriot singer. She is best known in Europe for representing her home country, Cyprus, in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992, 1994 and 2007 with the songs Teriazoume, Eimai Anthropos Ki Ego and Comme Ci, Comme Ça, respectively.
Nai is the name of a Greek album by singer Anna Vissi. It is her third studio album and includes the soundtrack of the TV series Methismeni Politeia. It was released in Greece and Cyprus in 1980 by EMI Greece. In 2006, a remastered version was released, including the Greek participation song in the ESC 1980 "Autostop", featuring the Epikouri band, as well as two remixes of the song "Oso Eho Foni". The album reached gold status.
Yesterday and Today is a studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released in the United States and Canada in June 1966, it was their ninth album issued on Capitol Records and twelfth American release overall. Typical of the Beatles' North American discography until 1967, the album contains songs that Capitol had withheld from its configurations of the band's recent EMI albums, along with songs that the group had released elsewhere on non-album singles. Among its 11 tracks are songs from the EMI albums Help! and Rubber Soul, and three new 1966 recordings that would appear on Revolver in countries outside North America.
Katerina "Katy" Garbi is a Greek singer active in Greece and Cyprus, with some popularity in Turkey. Her career has spanned over 35 years with over 2 million records sold in Greece and abroad. Garbi's discography is marked by several multi-platinum releases, including Arhizo Polemo (1996) and Evaisthisies (1997), two of the best-selling albums of the decade. Garbi represented Greece in the annual Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the song "Ellada, chora tou fotos", taking ninth place. She later struck her biggest commercial success with To Kati (2000) in terms of unit sales. Over the years, Garbi has won 11 Pop Corn Music Awards, including three for Album of the Year, and one Arion Music Award. On 14 March 2010, Alpha TV ranked her among the top-certified female artists in Greece's phonographic era.
Anastasios "Sakis" Rouvas, also known mononymously as Sakis, is a Greek singer, actor, and businessman. Born in Corfu, he won medals on the national athletics team during the 1980s before pursuing his musical career in 1991. Throughout the early 1990s, he was signed with PolyGram Records with whom he released five studio albums. Beginning in 1997, Rouvas signed with Minos EMI and released the charting albums Kati Apo Mena (1998) and 21os Akatallilos (2000). His Eurovision Song Contest 2004 song "Shake It" also became one of the best-selling CD singles of all time in Greece, while other songs and videos, such as "1992", "Aima, Dakrya & Idrotas", "Ela Mou", "Min Antistekesai", "Xana", "Tora Arhizoun Ta Dyskola", "Den Ehei Sidera I Kardia Sou", "Ypirhes Panta", "Antexa", "Se Thelo San Trelos", "+ Se Thelo" and "Sta Kalytera Mou" have topped the Greek music charts. In the 2010s, Rouvas expanded his career to film, television, theatre and fashion.
The Shirts are a New York-based American punk band that formed in 1975. The band's early existence was closely linked with CBGB, a music club in the Bowery. The band reformed with many of its early members in 2003 and is currently active.
"Theleis I Den Theleis" is a song released by Greek singer Sakis Rouvas in May 1998 by Minos EMI, written by composer Giorgos Theofanous with lyrics by Vangelis Konstantinidis, and produced by Vangelis Yannopoulos. It was released in Greece and Cyprus as a four track CD single. MAD TV ranked it as the best song of 1998.

The discography of Antique, a Swedish-Greek laïko and Eurodance musical duo, consists of three studio albums, two hybrid albums, two extended plays (EP), three compilation albums, nine singles, four promotional singles, and 12 music videos and 50 recorded songs. In 1999 Helena Paparizou and Nikos Panagiotidis, two Swedes born to Greek immigrant parents, recorded a demo of the Notis Sfakianakis hit "Opa Opa", leading to the formation of Antique and a contract with the newly formed Swedish indie label Bonnier Music. "Opa Opa" was released as a single in August. Becoming popular with the diaspora initially, it became a top ten hit across Scandinavia, while also charting in Romania, Germany, and Switzerland. It was the first Greek-language song to reach the Swedish top five and was certified platinum and Antique were the first act to be nominated at the Grammis with a Greek-language song. The follow-up single "Dinata Dinata" also reached the top ten and was certified gold. Their debut album, Mera Me Ti Mera, was released later that year, infusing Greek laïko music with Eurodance beats in a blend of both Greek and English lyrics. The album peaked at number 27 on the Swedish Albums Chart and spawned a further single, the title track. They released a self-titled EP of remixes of their first two hits in 2000.

Nikolaos "Nikos" Oikonomopoulos is a Greek singer. He appeared on the Greek talent show Dream Show – The Music 2, of which he was the winner. He is the top contemporary male singer in the latter half of the decade with a huge number of album sales.
