Kpalime Duga is a village located in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region of Ghana.
The nearest towns to Duga include To Kpalime to the north. This is also one of the towns in the Kpalime Traditional Area. To the east are the Peki villages of Blengo and Avetile, as well as Tongor-Kaira. To the north east is Tsate Kpalime. The southern neighbours of Duga are Peki Dzake and as well as the Asuogyaman District towns of Anum and Boso.
The people of the Kpalime Traditional Area are believed to have migrated to their present locations from Notsie in Togo. This was to escape the tyranny of Togbe Agorkorli, the king of Notsie. [1] One large group migrated to the coast. The second group includes the people of Wegbe, Kpeve and Klefe among others who settled in the Volta midlands. [2]
The people of Duga belong to the Ewe people of Ghana. Duga is the main town of the Kpalime Traditional Area. It is related to the other Kpalime villages which include Kpale, Todome, Tsatee, Hiama, Kaira, To and Wegbe Kpalime.
The inhabitants of Duga celebrate the annual Kpalikpakpaza or Kpalikpakpa festival around December each year. This is to commemorate the valour of their ancestors during their migration from Notsie in Togo. This festival was only instituted in 1997. [3] The main celebration rotates between the various towns annually.
Kpalime Duga is ruled by a king or Fiaga. Duga is within the South Dayi District with capital at Kpeve. The district administration which is based there is headed by a District Chief Executive.
Kpalimé is a city in the Plateaux Region of Togo, 120 km north of Lomé and 15 km from the border with Ghana. It is the administrative capital of Kloto Prefecture. Kpalimé has a population of 75,084, making it the fourth-biggest town in Togo, after Lomé, Sokodé and Kara. The town has a cathedral, a scientific lycée, and a post-office, as well as several banks, medical centres, pharmacies, cyber-cafés and petrol stations.

The Kpalime Traditional Area is located mainly in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region of Ghana. This area originally was located partly within the Kpando District of the Volta Region but with the creation of new districts in 2004, it now falls within the South Dayi District.

The Kpalikpakpa zã or Kpalikpakpa festival is an annual festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Kpalime Traditional Area located in the Volta Region of Ghana. The name of the festival is derived from an appellation in Ewe which is "Kpalikpakpa si tu makpata" which means "shooting without recording". The festival is meant to remind the Kpalime people of the valour of their ancestors during wars in the ancient days.
The Dodoleglime Festival is celebrated by the chiefs and peoples of the Ve Traditional Area in the Hohoe district of the Volta Region of Ghana. The festival is celebrated in November every year.
The Hogbetsotso festival(pronounced Hogbechocho) is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Anlo in the Volta region of Ghana. Some major Anlo towns include Anloga (capital), Keta, Kedzi, Vodza, Whuti, Srogboe, Tegbi, Dzita, Abor, Afiadenyigba, Anyako, Konu, Alakple, Atsito, Atiavi, Deʋegodo, Atorkor, Tsiame and many other villages. The festival is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in the month of November at Anloga which is the customary and ritual capital of the Anlo state. The name of the festival is derived from the Ewe language and translates as, the festival of exodus. or "coming from Hogbe (Notsie)". The celebration of the festival was instituted about four decades ago.
