Lagahida is one of the woredas in the ,Somali Region living Somali people Karanle clen border oromo region of Ethiopia. Part of the Fiq Zone, Lagahida is bordered on the south by Salahad, on the west by the Salahad, on the north by Oromia Region, and on the east by the wangay which separates it from Hamero.
Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), this woreda has a total population of 787,415, of whom 448,633 (56.9%) are men and 338,782 (43.1%) women. While 131,861 or 16.7% are urban inhabitants, a further 629,932 or 80% are pastoralists. 100% of the population are Muslim.This woreda is primarily inhabited by the Oromo Arsi clan as well as the Karanle Hawiye. . The Harari Region, officially the Harari People's National Regional State, is a regional state in eastern Ethiopia, covering the homeland of the Harari people. Formerly named Region 13, its capital is Harar, and the region covers the city and its immediate surroundings. Harari Region is the smallest regional state in Ethiopia in both land area and population. Harari and Oromo are the two official languages of the region. The region was created by splitting the Hundane woreda from East Hararghe Zone. As a result, Harari Region is enclaved by Oromia.
