Lake Alice is a small lake approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south west of Marton in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of the North Island. [1] The nearby Lake Alice Hospital that closed in 1999 is named after the lake. [2]

Like many New Zealand psychiatric hospitals, Lake Alice was largely self-sufficient, with its own farm, workshop, bakery, laundry, and fire station. It also had swimming pools, glasshouses, and vegetable gardens.
