Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI is a bi-annual fashion week which takes place at Delhi and Mumbai. Its Summer-Resort show takes place in March at Mumbai while the Winter-Festive show takes place in October at Delhi. [1]

History

The event first took place in 2000.

Activities

It is considered one of the premier fashion events in India [2] along with FDCI's India Fashion Week and India Runway Week. It is jointly run and organized by IMG Reliance Limited and Lakmé, whose title sponsor is Lakmé. [3]

Indian film stars such as Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora Khan, and Arjun Rampal as well as International models such as Naomi Campbell have participated at this show by making it one of the most prominent fashion shows in the world. Globally prominent luxury brand labels that have taken part in LFW include Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli. Among Indian designers, Ajay Kumar, Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, and Ritu Beri have taken part in the event. [4] [5] [6] The event has been responsible for launching the careers of designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee. [7] Kareena Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Lisa Haydon have been some of the major show-stoppers.

The film's screenplay was co-written by Ajay Monga, Bhandarkar and Anuraadha Tewari and principal photography occurred in Mumbai and Chandigarh. Its music was composed by, Salim–Sulaiman and the songs' lyrics were written by Irfan Siddiqui and Sandeep Nath. Development of the film began in 2006 with a budget of 180 million (US$2.2 million).

Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is a 2009 Indian romance film starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan in lead roles with Nauheed Cyrusi, Yash Tonk and Bappi Lahiri in supporting roles while Preity Zinta and Deepika Padukone make brief special appearances. Directed by debutant Prem Soni, the film, which revolves around the theme of extramarital affair, is a joint production of Sohail Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures. The film is produced by Sohail Khan and Ronnie Screwvala, and was released during the Diwali festival on 16 October 2009.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, also simply known as Ram-Leela, is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language romantic tragedy film written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also composed its original soundtrack. The film was jointly produced by Bhansali and Eros International's Kishore Lulla and stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles with Priyanka Chopra making a special appearance in the song "Ram Chahe Leela". Indore Fashion Week (IFW) is an annual fashion event that takes place in Indore. It is considered a premier fashion event in central India. It is run by Storm Fashion Company (SFC) and the title sponsor is Blenders Pride.

India is a country with an ancient clothing design tradition, yet an emerging fashion industry. Though a handful of designers existed prior to the 1980s, the late 1980s and the 1990s saw a spurt of growth. This was the result of increasing exposure to global fashion and the economic boom the economic liberalization of the Indian economy in 1990. The following decades firmly established fashion as an industry across India.

Bajirao Mastani is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language epic historical romance film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who co-produced it with Eros International and composed its soundtrack. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra with Tanvi Azmi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Milind Soman, Mahesh Manjrekar and Aditya Pancholi in supporting roles. Based on Nagnath S. Inamdar's Marathi novel Rau, Bajirao Mastani narrates the story of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I (1700–1740) and his second wife, Mastani.

Prasad Bidapa is a Bangalore based fashion stylist and choreographer for various fashion events and shows. He is known to be a fashion consultant, choreographer, image consultant and stylist.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Deewani Mastani</span> 2015 Hindi song

"Deewani Mastani" is a song from the 2015 Hindi film Bajirao Mastani. The song is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, while backing vocals were given by Ganesh Chandanshive, Mujtaba Aziz Naza, Altamash Faridi, Farhan Sabri. The lyrics were majorly penned by Siddharth-Garima. Ganesh Chandanshive penned the Marathi lyrics while the Qawwali lyrics were written by Nasir Faraaz. The song features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in the video. The movie was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and hence the song was also released as "Thindaadi Poagiraen" in Tamil and "Mastani" in Telugu on 25 November 2015. Shreya Ghoshal rendered her voice to all the three versions of the song. The song was reprised in MTV Unplugged Season 6 and was also rendered by Ghoshal.
