Langrisser Schwarz was a planned free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the Langrisser series in developed by Gamania. It was first revealed at the Tokyo Game Show in 2010. [1] The game would have featured three playable factions. [2]

Development

Langrisser Schwarz was rumored to be in development and slated for a Japanese release based on the trailer shown in the 2010 Tokyo Game Show. [1] Langrisser Schwarz was officially revealed to have an international release as a free-to-play game along with more details about the game in the 2011 Gamania Game Show on September 8–9. [3] Alpha testing of the game began exclusively in China in July 2012. [4] Noriyuki Iwadare was to be the composer of the soundtrack. [5]

<i>Grandia</i> (video game) 1997 video game

Grandia is a role-playing video game, developed by Game Arts and published by Entertainment Software Publishing for the Sega Saturn console as the first game in their Grandia series. Released in Japan in 1997, the game was ported to the PlayStation in 1999, with an English version of the game appearing on the platform in North America in the following September by Sony Computer Entertainment, and in Europe in 2000 by Ubisoft. The game was produced by much of the same staff who worked on the company's previous role-playing endeavor, the Lunar series, including producer Yoichi Miyagi and composer Noriyuki Iwadare.

Dungeons & Dragons Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Turbine for Microsoft Windows and OS X. The game was originally marketed as Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. Upon switching to a hybrid free-to-play model it was renamed Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited. <i>Grandia Online</i> 2009 video game

Grandia Online was a Japanese free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Game Arts and published by GungHo Online Entertainment for Microsoft Windows as part of their Grandia series. Although originally announced in 2004, the game was beset by a number of delays and lulls in development. It eventually received a final retail release in Japan nearly five years later in August 2009. It was the first online multiplayer game in the series, as well as the first to be initially developed for the PC. It retains many features seen in previous Grandia games, including visual themes, characters, and a similar combat system. The game utilized the BigWorld Technology Suite to render its vast world, and featured music from series veteran Noriyuki Iwadare. Although the game did not require a subscription fee, optional in-game items were only available through paid microtransactions.

<i>Fallen Earth</i> 2009 video game

Fallen Earth is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Reloaded Productions. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland located around the American Grand Canyon. Fallen Earth's gameplay features FPS/RPG hybridization, first-person/third person views, hundreds of items, including improvised equipment and weapons, a variety of functional vehicles, a real-time, in-depth crafting system, various skills and abilities, factions and tactical PvP, all existing within 1000 square kilometers of usable terrain based on real-world topographical maps of the area. The game was released on September 22, 2009. Two years later, GamersFirst purchased the intellectual property and made the game free to play. It was acquired by the publisher Little Orbit in 2018. 2 Years following its initial shutdown, Fallen Earth's servers were brought back online on October 28, 2021, as a free to play classic server.

<i>Langrisser: The Descendants of Light</i> 1991 video game

Langrisser (ラングリッサー), known as Warsong in North America, is a tactical role-playing game developed by Nippon Computer Systems (NCS). The first in the Langrisser series, it blended tactical warfare with RPG elements, similar to the Fire Emblem series. It was initially released for the Mega Drive/Genesis console and the PC Engine, the former version being published by Treco in America. The PC-Engine version was released under the title Langrisser: The Descendants of Light. It was later re-released alongside Der Langrisser in a compilation for the Sega Saturn and PlayStation. That compilation was released for the PlayStation Network in 2009. A full remake of Langrisser I & II was also released in 2019 on both Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and on PC in 2020, featuring new graphics and BGM and also new playable characters and multiple paths through the game for Langrisser I.
