The Record of the Year award is given to the performers, producers, recording engineers, mixing engineers and mastering engineers for commercially released singles or tracks of new vocal or instrumental recordings in Spanish or Portuguese language. [2] Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees. [3] Alejandro Sanz has won the most awards in the category with five wins out of nine nominations.

The Album of the Year award is given to the performers, producers, recording engineers, mixing engineers and mastering engineers for vocal or instrumental albums with 51% of newly recorded material. [2] Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees. [3] Beginning in 2018, songwriters are eligible for the accolade if 33% of the playing time are written by them. [12] Juan Luis Guerra is the performer with the most wins in the category with four awards, including one as a producer, while Allan Leschhorn has also received four awards as recording and mixing engineer.

Most Song of the Year wins

The Song of the Year award is given to the songwriters of new songs containing at least 51% of lyrics in Spanish or Portuguese language. [2] Instrumental songs and cover versions are not eligible. [2] Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees. [3] Alejandro Sanz is the most awarded songwriter in the category with four wins out of eight nominations.

Jorge Drexler holds the record for most Latin Grammys won in one night by a male artist with six wins in 2022. Juanes and Juan Luis Guerra follow him with five. Juanes won five awards in 2003 and again in 2008. Juan Luis Guerra won five awards in 2007.

Vicente García Guillén is a Dominican musician, singer and composer. He is the former lead singer of the Dominican alternative rock band Calor Urbano, which he left in 2010 to pursue a solo career. Garcia has collaborated in concerts with renowned artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Sanz, Cultura Profetica, Juanes, Ximena Sariñana and Maná among others. He has won four Latin Grammy awards including Best New Artist in 2017.

The 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was held on November 16, 2017, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It was broadcast on Univision at 8PM ET\PT. This marked the tenth year Las Vegas hosts the Latin Grammy Awards and also marked the telecasts return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards took place on November 16, 2023, at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain. The awards honored recordings released between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023. It marked the first time that the awards were held outside of the United States. The ceremony was hosted by Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra, Mexican singer Danna Paola, Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sánchez, and Spanish actress Paz Vega.
