Kathryn Louise Taylor was elected the 38th mayor of Tulsa,Oklahoma on April 4,2006,in the city's largest voter turnout for a mayoral election. She defeated Republican incumbent Mayor Bill Lafortune to become Tulsa's second female mayor,after Susan Savage first filled the post in 1992. Taylor is married to Bill Lobeck,CEO of Vanguard Automotive Group. Taylor served as Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Tourism in Governor Brad Henry's administration from 2003 to 2006. She resigned from that post in order to run for Mayor.
The Miss Oklahoma competition selects a winner to compete on behalf of Oklahoma in the Miss America pageant. Miss Oklahoma has won the Miss America crown on five occasions. Also,in the years when city representatives were common,Norma Smallwood won,competing as Miss Tulsa,giving the state of Oklahoma a total of six crowns. Oklahoma is also one of three states to win back to back Miss America titles.

Brian John Bingman is an American politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma who has served in elected and appointed offices since the 1990s. He played college football for the Golden Hurricane at University of Tulsa,and after a hiatus to serve in the Second World War,for the Sooners at the University of Oklahoma. Burris was the first Oklahoma player to earn All-America honors in three years. After college,he played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for three years with the Green Bay Packers.
Homer Paine was an American football tackle. He played college football at the University of Tulsa for one season and at the University of Oklahoma for three seasons. Paine was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team while at Tulsa,and he was twice named to all-conference first teams while at Oklahoma. After college,Paine played professional football for one season with the Chicago Hornets of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). He was selected in the 14th round of the 1946 NFL Draft.
Daniel Webster High School is a high school in Tulsa,Oklahoma. It is part of the Tulsa Public Schools,and is a public school for students from grades 9 through 12. The school opened in 1938 in the West Tulsa section of the city,and is housed in a PWA-style Art Deco building designed by architects Arthur M.
