Leovigildo "Leo" Cotte is a Puerto Rican politician and former mayor of Lajas. Cotte is affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP) and served as mayor from 2009 to 2013. [1]
Mr. Cotte was an agronomist graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. He dedicated himself to teaching for thirty years. He was employed by the Department of Education. Served as Mayor of Lajas,Puerto Rico from January 14,2009 until January 13,2013.
Lajas is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the Lajas Valley in southwestern Puerto Rico,on the southern coast of the island,bordering the Caribbean Sea,south of San Germán and Sabana Grande;east of Cabo Rojo;and west of Guánica. Lajas is spread over 11 barrios plus Lajas Pueblo. It is part of the San Germán-Cabo Rojo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Timoteo Luberza de San Martín was a nineteenth-century Puerto Rican engineer from Ponce,Puerto Rico. He was responsible for the 1875 Ponce water supply system,including the dam in Rio Portugues,and the Calle del Agua masonry arch aqueduct in barrio Portugues Urbano in Ponce. In 1864,he served briefly as mayor of the nearby town of Yauco. He is best remembered for designing Plaza del Mercado de Ponce.
