"Let's Hold Hands" (Russian : Давай держаться за руки, romanized: Davay derzhat'sya za ruki) is the seventh single performed by Russian girl group Serebro and written by Maxim Fadeev. The song is included on the group's second album ( Mama Lover ).

Background

Maxim Fadeev, Serebro's manager, composed the song and co-wrote it with band member Olga Seryabkina. The demo version was released on 4 November 2010 through YouTube. [1] Unlike previous Russian songs released by Serebro, an English version was not made available until the release of their second album where 'Angel Kiss' was released. [2]

The music video for "Davay derzhat'sya za ruki" was directed by Yuri Kurokhtin. The video featured the band members performing nude, and in some scenes wearing white catsuits, against various white backgrounds. At the end of the video all three members walk down a white hallway before the video fades to black. [3]

Ello hosted the music video worldwide on 20 February 2011. The video was scheduled to be released on TV channel Europa Plus on 1 March 2011. The video also featured in Russia's most watched TV channels. [4] A remix from DJ MIV was released for the House Megamix 2010 vol. 2. [5]

The video is Serebro's second most watched on YouTube, with more than 1,900,000 views as of June 2012.

Chart performance

The song debuted in Russia at number 108, later peaking at number 3 becoming the band's seventh top 10 single. [11] The song has also peaked at number 18 in Ukraine and number 7 in Latvia.

Serebro is a Russian girl group formed by their manager and producer Maxim Fadeev. Serebro was formed in 2007, consisting of Marina Lizorkina, Olga Seryabkina, and Elena Temnikova as a submitted proposal for consideration by Channel One Russia for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Serebro was selected to represent Russia at the 2007 Contest with the song titled "Song #1". They subsequently placed third at the contest, scoring a total of 207 points. Serebro was then officially signed to Fadeev's record label Monolit Records, and in 2012, the group had additional releases produced by Sony Music Entertainment and Ego Music. In 2009, Lizorkina announced her departure from the group; she was subsequently replaced by Anastasia Karpova. Karpova left the group in 2013 and was replaced by Dasha Shashina, who left in 2016. Temnikova left the group in 2014 for health reasons, and Polina Favorskaya, who replaced Temnikova, left the group in 2017. Favorskaya was later replaced by Morgunova. OpiumRoz is the debut studio album of Russian girlband Serebro. It was released 25 April 2009 by Monolit Records in Russia, and 2 March 2010 by Symbolic Records. It was produced by Maxim Fadeev and some of Serebro themselves. The album originally had a projected release date of 17 October 2008 but due to problems with the track list the release had been delayed. The album was later released April 25, 2009 in their native Russia. The album was later released through iTunes worldwide by the Finnish record label Symbolic Records.

"Ty kto takoy? Davay, do svidaniya!" is a title of the viral video, showing meykhana performance with repeating hook in Russian: "Ty kto takoy? Davay, do svidaniya!" by two brothers Intigam and Ehtiram Rustamov from Azerbaijan. The video was filmed on 5 November 2011 at a wedding in Tangarud, Azerbaijan and as of August 2024 it was viewed over 25 million times on YouTube. It is sung in the form of flyting between Talysh and Baku groups in Azerbaijani, Talysh and Russian languages. "Malo tebya" is a single by the Russian pop group Serebro, the second single from their album Sila tryokh, released on May 14, 2013. The premiere of the song took place on the TopHit, where the track managed to reach the top 5 of the radio chart, staying on the chart for 31 weeks. The song became a big hit in CIS countries.
