Lisa V. Dempster is a Canadian politician,who was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in a by-election on June 25,2013. [3] She represents the district of Cartwright-L'Anse au Clair as a member of the Liberal Party. [3]
A resident of Charlottetown,Labrador, [4] Dempster has worked as an employment counsellor and as a municipal Councillor in Charlottetown,including serving as the town's deputy mayor. [4] Dempster is a member of NunatuKavut. [5]
After her re-election in the 2015 election,Dempster was named Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly. [6] She was promoted to Minister of Children,Seniors,and Social Development in a cabinet shuffle on July 31,2017. [7]
She was re-elected in the 2019 provincial election.
On August 19,2020,Dempster was appointed Minister Responsible for the Status of Women and Minister of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation,Minister of Labrador Affairs,and Deputy Government House Leader in the Furey government. [8] [9]
She was re-elected in the 2021 provincial election. [10]

Andrew John Furey is a Canadian politician and surgeon who has served as the 14th premier of Newfoundland and Labrador since August 19, 2020. A member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Liberal Party, Furey represents Humber-Gros Morne in the House of Assembly. As of 2022, he is the only premier of a province whose government is controlled by the Liberal Party.
John Abbott is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 2021 provincial election. He defeated the leader of the New Democratic Party, Alison Coffin, to represent the electoral district of St. John's East-Quidi Vidi as a member of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. On April 8, 2021, he was appointed Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development. On May 12, 2021, Supreme Court Justice Donald Burrage rejected Coffin's bid for a recount, arguing that there was not sufficient evidence. Abbott was subsequently sworn-in as MHA on May 18, 2021.
