The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) is the governing body for Volleyball in Europe. It organises three club competitions for women: the CEV Champions League (formerly European Cup), the CEV Cup (formerly Cup Winners Cup) and the CEV Challenge Cup. There was also the CEV Super Cup (it) but this competition no longer exist.
Russian side Dynamo Moscow have won a record total of 11 titles in women's CEV competitions, two more than VC Uralochka-NTMK (Russia). The only team to have won every CEV women's club competition is Modena Volley from Italy.
Italian clubs have won the most titles (58), ahead of clubs from the Soviet Union (33) and Turkey (17). Italy is the only country in European women's volleyball history whose clubs won the three main competitions in the same season in six occasion in : 1996—97, 1999—20, 2004—05, 2005—06, 2008—09 and 2018—19.
Dynamo Moscow is the most crowned one in CEV Champions League with 11 titles record, in CEV Cup CSKA Moscow comes first with 4 titles and in the CEV Challenge Cup USC Münster from (Germany) and Reggio Emilia Volley (Italy) share the record with 3 titles each. Andrea Giani is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player who scored numerous successes in the 1990s, including three World Championships with his national team. He was an all-rounder able to play both as an outside hitter and as a middle blocker, but he played several times as an opposite spiker too.
VakıfBank Sports Club is a Turkish professional volleyball club based in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 1986, VakıfBank SK is currently one of the best women's volleyball teams in the world, having won the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship a record four times and the European Champions League six times to date.
WVC Dinamo Moscow is a Russian professional women's volleyball club based in Moscow which is currently playing in the Super League. It was established in 1926 and dissolved in 1992, but was reestablished in 2004. It is the most successful team in Soviet women's volleyball history with fourteen Championship titles and the most successful team in the CEV Women's Champions League history with eleven titles.
Lyubov Vladimirovna Sokolova is a retired Russian volleyball player, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. She was a member of the national team that won gold medals at the 2006 and 2010 World Championships in Japan, and silver medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Additionally, she’s the only volleyball player who has won 2 World titles in the same year: 2010 World Championship with Russia and 2010 World Club Championship with Fenerbahçe
Hubert Henno is a French volleyball player, a member of France men's national volleyball team. He was participant of the Olympic Games Athens 2004, bronze medalist of the World Championship 2002, silver medalist of the European Championship, four-time French Champion, double Italian Champion, and Russian Champion.
Matey Iliyanov Kaziyski is a Bulgarian professional volleyball player, member of Bulgaria men's national volleyball team during 2003–2012 and Italian club Trentino Volley, a participant of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, bronze medalist of the World Championship 2006, World Cup 2007 and European Championship 2009. He is a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship with the Italian club Trentino Volley.
Tuomas Petteri Sammelvuo is a Finnish professional volleyball coach and former player. He currently serves as head coach for the Canada national team.
Maja Ognjenović is a Serbian professional volleyball player of the Serbia women's national volleyball team. Ognjenović won gold with the national team at the 2018 World Championship, and the 2011/2019 edition of the European Championship, silver at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Sergey Yuryevich Grankin is a Russian volleyball player, a former member of the Russian national team. 2012 Olympic Champion, two–time European Champion, and a multiple World League medallist. At the professional club level, he plays for Fakel Novy Urengoy.
Radostin Svetoslavov Stoychev is a former Bulgarian volleyball player and head coach.
Carolina del Pilar Costagrande is an Argentine born professional volleyball player who became a naturalized Italian. She currently plays for Vakıfbank Spor Kulübü. She played for Argentina between 1999-02 and has played for the Italian national team since 2009.
Ivan Vyacheslavovich Zaytsev, nicknamed lo Zar, is an Italian professional volleyball player of Russian origin, the captain of Italy men's national volleyball team, a bronze medalist of the Olympic Games London 2012, silver medalist of the European Championship, bronze medalist of the World League, Italian Champion (2014) and silver medalist of the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Daniele Bagnoli is an Italian volleyball head coach of Italian club Top Volley Latina. As coach, Bagnoli is an eight-time Italian champion, seven-time Italian Cup winner, two-time Winner's Cup winner, five-time European Cup and League of Champions winner, five-time SuperCup of Italy winner and a two-time CEV Cup Winner. Since 2007, Bagnoli has been the head coach of VC Dynamo Moscow, where he guided the team to titles in the Russian League, the Supercup and the Russian Cup in 2008. Monica De Gennaro Santarelli is an Italian professional volleyball player. She plays for Imoco Volley Conegliano and for the Italy women's national volleyball team. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. She is 1.74 m tall.
Tsvetan Nikolaev Sokolov is a Bulgarian professional volleyball player who plays as an opposite spiker for Dynamo Moscow. Sokolov is a former member of the Bulgaria national team, a participant in the Olympic Games London 2012, and a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and Club World Championship.
Tijana Bošković is a Serbian professional volleyball player. She has won gold medals with the Serbia women's national volleyball team at the 2018 and 2022 World Championships, and the 2017 and 2019 European Championships. She is also a two-time Olympic medalist, having won silver at the 2016 Rio Games and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Ekaterina Vadimovna Pankova, from 2013 to 2016 Kosianenko, is a Russian volleyball player, who plays as an setter. She is a member of the Russia women's national volleyball team and plays for Dynamo Moscow at club level.
The Montenegrin Women's Volley League, is the highest professional women's volleyball league in Montenegro. It is run by the Montenegrin Volleyball Federation.
The 2021–22 CEV Champions League was the 63rd edition of the highest level European volleyball club competition organised by the European Volleyball Confederation.
