Volleyball has been played consistently at the Mediterranean Games since the year 1959 for men and since the year 1975 for women . The Italy men's national volleyball team are the most successful men's team and also the Italy women's national volleyball team is the most successful team for women.

The Saskatchewan Huskies are the athletics teams representing the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Giovanni Lanfranco is a retired Italian volleyball player. He was part of Italian teams that finished second at the 1975 Mediterranean Games and 1978 World Championships, third at the 1984 Summer Olympics, eighth at the 1976 Summer Olympics, and ninth at the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Basketball at the Mediterranean Games has been played consistently since 1951 for men, and 1987 for women. The Yugoslavia national team was the most successful men's team, while the Croatia women's national team being the most successful in the women's competition. Since 2018, the Mediterranean Games has exclusively featured 3x3 basketball.

Servet Teufik Agaj was an Albanian former football player who played for Skënderbeu Korçë during the 1930s, where he won the club's first ever Albanian Championship in 1933, a season in which he also finished as top scorer with 7 goals in 5 games.

The Albanian Volleyball League for women is a league competition featuring professional women volleyball clubs from Albania. It was founded in 1946 from the Albanian Federation of Volleyball, several days after the latter was formed. It is the top level volleyball league in Albania from its foundation. The team with the most championships are KV Tirana and Dinamo each with 20 championship trophies won.

The Albanian Volleyball Cup is the top annual national men's volleyball cup competition in Albania. It was founded in 1954 by the Albanian Basketball Association and the club with the most titles is Dinamo, who have won the competition on 18 occasions.
