The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is a coalition of right-leaning political parties in India. At the time of its formation in 1998, it was led by the BJP and had 13 constituent parties. Its chairman was late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Also representing the alliance are L. K. Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister, who is the acting chairman of the Alliance, Narendra Modi, current Prime Minister and the Leader of the House in Lok Sabha; and Thawar Chand Gehlot, Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha and Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. The coalition ruled from 1998 to 2004. The alliance returned to power in the 2014 General Elections with a combined vote share of 38.5%. Its leader, Narendra Modi, was sworn in as Prime Minister of India on 26 May 2014. In the 2019 General Elections, the Alliance further increased its tally to 353 seats with combined vote share of 45.43%.
Jharkhand Disom Party was a political party in India. The party was founded 2002 by Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Salkhan Murmu. The party works for the rights of the Adivasi peoples. For example the party works for more quotas and reservations for Adivasis.
Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who thrice served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand, first in 2005 for 10 day, then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He was sworn in as the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 30 December 2009 after winning the Jharkhand Assembly elections. He resigned on 30 May 2010 after failing to obtain coalition support from the Bharatiya Janata Party, his national party partner. The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) is a state political party in the Indian state of Jharkhand which was founded by former Union Minister and Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi. The party's formation was announced by Marandi at Hazaribagh on 24 September, 2006. Marandi was earlier a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but he quit in mid-2006 because he felt he was being sidelined in the party.
