List of Devon County Cricket Club grounds

Devon County Cricket Club was established on 26 November 1899. It has since played minor counties cricket from 1901 and played List A cricket from 1969 to 2005, using a different number of home grounds during that time. Their first home minor counties fixture in 1901 was against Wiltshire at Gras Lawn, Exeter, while their first home List A match came 77 years later against Staffordshire in the 1978 Gillette Cup at the Recreation Ground, Torquay.

Notes

  1. Twelve first-class cricket matches have been played on the ground: firstly during the 1950s the ground was used by the South of England cricket team in the North v South fixture on five occasions, and the ground also saw use by an England XI against the Commonwealth XI cricket team on four occasions during the same period. A combined Minor Counties cricket team later played three first-class matches there against touring international sides in the 1970s. Somerset played five List A matches there between 1969 and 1975. Minor Counties West also played one List A match here in the 1974 Benson & Hedges Cup. Only the List A matches played by Devon at the ground are recorded in the table.
  2. Two first-class cricket matches have been played at the ground. The first was between the West of England cricket team and the touring New Zealanders in 1927; the second was between a combined Minor Counties cricket team and the touring West Indians in 1928.
  3. The Unicorns cricket team also played two List A matches at the ground in the 2010 and 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40. Only the List A matches played by Devon at the ground are recorded in the table.

Andrew John Procter is an English cricketer. Procter was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born in Preston, Lancashire.

Robert Ian Fanshawe McIntosh was an English cricketer born in Darjeeling, India. He was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium-fast.

Jeffrey Graham Tolchard is an English former cricketer and footballer. Tolchard was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace and who occasionally kept wicket. As a footballer, Tolchard played for Torquay United, Exeter City and Loughborough. He was born in Torquay, Devon.

The 2007–08 South West Peninsula League season was the first in the history of the South West Peninsula League, a football competition in England, that feeds the Premier Division of the Western Football League. The league had been formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League, and is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall and Devon. The Premier Division of the South West Peninsula League is on the same level of the National League System as the Western League Division One.

The 2014–15 South West Peninsula League season was the eighth in the history of the South West Peninsula League, a football competition in England, that feeds the Premier Division of the Western Football League. The league had been formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League, and is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall and Devon. The Premier Division of the South West Peninsula League is on the same level of the National League System as the Western League Division One.

The Devon Senior Cup is an annual rugby union league and cup club competition organized by the Devon Rugby Football Union. It was first introduced in the 1886-87 season and the inaugural competition was won by Tiverton. During the early years of the cup the format changed several times from a knock-out competition to a league format, then to hybrid league/cup, then back to being a knock-out cup once again. The competition also was had periods of inactivity, with World War I preventing play for a number of seasons and then the cup being cancelled in the 1930s before being reintroduced for the 1969-70 season when it was won by St. Luke's College. The Havill Plate was introduced in the 1970s for teams knocked out of the first round of the cup which would continue until 1999. Competitions similar to the Havill Plate were introduced in 2009 for teams that got knocked out of the earlier stages of the cup were introduced - plate and vase - but these were discontinued due to a lack of interest by the clubs involved.
