Durham County Cricket Club is one of the 18 member clubs of the English County Championship, representing the historic county of Durham. The club was established on 23 May 1882. The county entered the Minor Counties Championship in 1895 and competed with great success in the competition until 1991, after which it was elevated to first-class status for the 1992 season, and has played first-class cricket since. While still a minor county, Durham first played List A cricket in 1964, and has played Twenty20 cricket since 2003.
The Racecourse Ground in Durham staged the club's first home fixture in first-class cricket in 1992 which was against Leicestershire, while Feethams played host to the club's first home List A match in 1964, a match against Hertfordshire, with the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street being the venue for the club's first Twenty20 match in 2003, the game against Nottinghamshire. Durham have played home matches at 22 grounds, but have played the majority of their home fixtures since elevation to first-class status at the Riverside Ground, which also holds Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket matches.

Durham County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham. Founded in 1882, Durham held minor status for over a century and was a prominent member of the Minor Counties Championship, winning the competition seven times. In 1992, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to senior status as an official first-class team. Durham has been classified as an occasional List A team from 1964, then as a full List A team from 1992; and as a senior Twenty20 team since the format's introduction in 2003.
Ropery Lane is a cricket ground in Chester-le-Street, England round the corner from The Riverside Ground. It is the home of the Chester-le-Street Cricket Club, who play in the North East Premier League.
Eastwood Gardens is a cricket ground in Gateshead, England which, like Feethams Cricket Ground, Grangefield Road, The Racecourse, Park Drive and Ropery Lane, was used by the Durham 1st XI between 1992 and 1994 prior to The Riverside Ground being built, since which it has not seen any 1st XI action. In 1992, the ground hosted two County Championship matches and one Sunday match, while in 1993 and 1994 the ground hosted one match in each of those two competitions.
Paul Robert Archibald Johnston is an English cricketer. Johnston is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace. He was born in Hartlepool, County Durham and educated at Durham University.
The Memorial Ground is a cricket ground in Finchampstead, Berkshire, England. The ground is located at the northern end of the village and is part of a wider sporting complex.
Green Lane is a cricket ground in Durham, County Durham. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1866, when Durham City played the Northumberland Club. It became Durham City's main ground after they were forced to leave The Racecourse in 1888.
Boughton Hall Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Boughton, Cheshire. The ground is located in grounds which formerly belonged to Boughton Hall. The ground is located off Boughton Hall Avenue, with the Shropshire Union Canal to the north. The ground is used by Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.
