<span class="mw-page-title-main">HNK Rijeka</span> Croatian football club

Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka, commonly referred to as NK Rijeka or simply Rijeka, is a Croatian professional football club from the city of Rijeka.

The Croatian Football Super Cup is a football match between the winners of the Croatian national top league and football cup. The Super Cup is always held at the beginning of a new football season, and is only held when different clubs win the two most important competitions in the previous season.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Stadion Kantrida</span> Croatian football stadium

Kantrida Stadium is a football stadium in the Croatian city of Rijeka. It is named after the Kantrida neighbourhood in which it is located, in the western part of the city. It has served as the home of the HNK Rijeka football club for most years since at least 1918. The stadium has a distinctive appearance as it is situated between steep cliffs, a remnant of an old quarry, just north of the stadium and the shore of the Adriatic on its south side.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">HNK Orijent</span> Croatian football club

HNK Orijent is a football club from Sušak, the eastern part of the city of Rijeka, Croatia. The club was established under the name Orient in 1919. They compete in the Croatian Second Football League. It is a phoenix club of NK Orijent which ceased activities in 2014 due to financial difficulties. The club is resurrected the same year under the new name, HNK Orijent 1919, but in September 2022 club assembly decided to bring back an old name, HNK Orijent.

Petar Krpan is a Croatian retired footballer who played as a forward.

The 1992 Croatian First Football League was the first season of the top Croatian football league. It was the inaugural season of the league established following Croatia's independence from Yugoslavia. Affected by the political and social upheavals stemming from the breakup of Yugoslavia and the early stages of the 1991–95 war, the season was drastically shortened and played over the course of less than four months, from 29 February to 13 June.

Srećko Juričić is a Croatian former professional footballer, who is currently the sporting director for HNK Rijeka. Juričić has also had a career as a manager coaching: HNK Rijeka, Koper, Primorje, HIT Gorica, Istra, Al-Riffa, Ittihad Kalba, Al-Ahli Dubai, Sharjah FC, Qatar SC, Al Wasl FC, Al Taawoun FC and national teams UAE, UAE U-20, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen.

Rijeka city derby, is the name given to matches between HNK Rijeka and HNK Orijent, the two most popular football clubs in the Adriatic city of Rijeka.

Zvjezdan Radin is a Croatian retired football player and manager.

Marijan Jantoljak is a former Croatian football player.

Anđelo Milevoj is a Croatian retired football player. He was named Best Defender of the Yugoslav First League for two years in a row, in 1967 and 1968.

Ivica Šangulin was a Croatian football player and manager.

The 1978–79 season was the 33rd season in Rijeka’s history and their 17th season in the Yugoslav First League. Their 5th place finish in the 1977–78 season meant it was their fifth successive season playing in the Yugoslav First League.

The 1979–80 season was the 34th season in Rijeka’s history and their 18th season in the Yugoslav First League. Their 10th place finish in the 1978–79 season meant it was their sixth successive season playing in the Yugoslav First League.

The 1990–91 season was the 45th season in Rijeka's history and their 29th season in the Yugoslav First League. Their 6th place finish in the 1989–90 season meant it was their 17th successive season playing in the Yugoslav First League. This was also the last season in which Croatian clubs participated in the Yugoslav league.

The 2017–18 season is Dinamo Zagreb's 27th season in the Croatian First Division and 105th year in existence as a football club.

Osijek–Rijeka derby is the name given to matches between NK Osijek and HNK Rijeka. On Croatian First Football League all time table Rijeka and Osijek are on the third and fourth place. Rijeka is the third-most successful Croatian football club, having won one Croatian First Football League title, six Croatian Football Cups, two Yugoslav Cups, one Croatian Football Super Cup and the 1977–78 Balkans Cup. Osijek won one Croatian Football Cup.

  3. Kvarner qualified for the inaugural season of the Yugoslav First League beating Unione Sportiva Operaia (Pula). US Operaia won the first leg in Rijeka 2–1, but Kvarner won the return leg 4–1 and qualified.

  6. Rijeka qualified for the First Division by beating Spartak Subotica (3–0) and Napredak Kruševac (6–2) at home. Both away games ended in 0–0 draws.
  7. Rijeka remained in the First Division by beating Sloboda Tuzla. Rijeka lost 3–0 in Tuzla, but won the return leg 4–0 to remain in the First Division.
  8. Rijeka lost to Crvenka in the qualifiers for the First Division (0–0 in Rijeka, and 2–2 in Crvenka, with Crvenka winning 6–5 after penalty shoot-out).
  9. Rijeka lost to Osijek in the qualifiers for the First Division (1–1 in Osijek and 1–1 in Rijeka, with Osijek winning 6–5 after penalty shoot-out).
  10. Rijeka lost to Crvenka in the qualifiers for the First Division (0–3 in Crvenka and 1–0 in Rijeka).
  11. For three consecutive seasons (from 1988–89 to 1990–91), if a league fixture ended in a draw, penalty shoot-outs were used to determine which side will be awarded one point (the losing side did not get a point). In 1988–89, Rijeka did not win any of the 7 penalty shoot-outs after a draw.
  12. Rijeka won 5 out of 6 penalty shoot-outs after a draw.
