This is a list of main characters from the manga Kekkaishi by Yellow Tanabe and the anime television series adapted from it. Kekkaishi is about teenagers Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs to rival clans of kekkai (barrier magic) users, who must defend their school from the spirits drawn to the sacred land it is built upon.

The Kokuboro (黒芒楼, Kokubōrō) are a group of ayakashi who seek Karasumori's power in order to regenerate their leader, Princess. Kokuboro is also the name of the group's castle and the alternate world where they reside. They are the first major antagonist in the first half of the manga series, and the main antagonists in the anime. Their home is a region called the "Black Pampas Grass " (黒芒, Kurosusuki).
Shichirou Ougi states that Hiura was sent to Karasumori to kidnap a kekkaishi; Toshimori was likely to be his target, since he is the weakest kekkaishi in both the Sumimura and Yukimura households.
The Shadow Organization (裏会, Urakai) is an umbrella group organizing all ability users and those who fight ayakashi and other demons. It is run by an executive committee called the Council of Twelve (十二人会, Jūnininkai).
The Night Troop (夜行, Yagyō) is a troop of ability users under the Shadow Organization. It was created and run by Masamori Sumimura, and includes many young ability users still in training.

Blood Lad is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuuki Kodama and serialized in Young Ace. It follows Staz, a vampire from the surreal Demon World, who meets Fuyumi Yanagi, an ordinary Japanese high school girl who accidentally wanders into the Demon World through a portal. Shortly after their meeting Fuyumi is killed by a carnivorous plant and turned into a ghost, causing Staz to take responsibility and pledge to help bring her back to life. An anime adaptation aired between July and September 2013.
Himari Noihara or Himari for short, is a fictional character in the manga series Omamori Himari, created by Milan Matra. She also appears in the anime adaptation where she is voiced by Ami Koshimizu. Himari's character design was created simply, but Matra became bogged down on other things such as naming of the main heroine. In the story, Himari is shown to be a bakeneko or demon cat, a type of Japanese spirit known as a yōkai. Reception of her character by English-language media has been mostly positive with writers often calling her a good lead character based on her traits.
