The Aniversario de Arena México show is an annual major professional wrestling show produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to commemorate the opening of Arena México, the promotion's main venue, in 1956. The event usually takes place in April with very few exceptions in place of the promotion's regular Friday Night Super Viernes series of shows. Detailed results of a number of older events have not been found and in some cases no results or planned matches have been found documented, leading only to the knowledge that an event probably took place, but no confirmation of date or other details were found. The most recent show was the 63. Aniversario de Arena México show that took place on April 26, 2019. Up until 1991 CMLL operated under the name Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) or some times as NWA-EMLL, to promote their association with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) that ended in 1991 and prompted the name change.

Javier Espinosa Romero is a Mexican luchador, or masked professional wrestler best known under the ring name Tony Rivera. As Rivera he is currently working on the Mexican professional wrestling independent circuit portraying a tecnico wrestling character. Rivera worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) for over 10 years, followed by him working on the Mexican independent circuit, particularly for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) and International Wrestling League (IWL). He originally worked as an Enmascarado or masked wrestler under the ring names Paris and Renegado but has used the name Tony Rivera since 1996. Following his departure from CMLL he became an advocate for wrestlers rights and pay, including Rivera organizing a blockade of one of CMLL's major shows, the 2011 Juicio Final.

The December 2008 El Castillo del Terror was a major lucha libre event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion on December 21, 2008. The El Castillo del Terror show was the ninth ever IWRG El Castillo del Terror event held and the second held in 2008, less than two months after the first 2008 El Castillo del Terror show. The main event was the eponymous Castillo del Terror Steel cage match where the last person eliminated would be forced to take off his wrestling mask or have his hair shaved off as a result of the loss.
