North West Warriors was formed in 2013 and became a List A team in 2017. [1] They played their inaugural List A match in the 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup against Leinster Lightning. In total, 31 players have appeared in List A cricket for North West Warriors.
William Porterfield is North West Warriors leading run-scorer in List A cricket, aggregating 466 runs. Porterfield is also the only North West Warriors player score a century in the format, with his score of 110 not out scored in 2018 against Northern Knights. [2] For players to have made five or more appearances, Niall O'Brien has the teams best batting average: 69.50. Among the bowlers, Craig Young has taken more wickets than with 18. Andrew Britton has the best bowling figures in an innings: he claimed five wickets against Leinster Lightning in a 2018 match, while conceding 23 runs. [3]

William Boyd Rankin is a Northern Irish former cricketer who played international cricket for Ireland, and briefly also played for England. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He is the brother of fellow cricketer David Rankin.
William Thomas Stuart Porterfield is an Irish former cricketer and a former captain of the Ireland cricket team. He played first-class cricket for Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. A left-handed batsman, he played for Ireland from 2006 to 2022, and has captained Ireland at all levels from Under-13 and is considered one of the greatest Irish cricketers of all time. During Afghanistan T20I series in March 2017, he passed 1,000 runs in T20Is and became the first player from Ireland to do so. In May 2018, he was named as the captain of Ireland's squad for their first ever Test match, against Pakistan. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 16 June 2022.
Kevin Joseph O'Brien is an Irish former international cricketer who plays for Leinster and Railway Union Cricket Club. On 16 August 2022, he announced his retirement from international cricket.
Andrew Balbirnie is an Irish cricketer, the current captain of the Ireland cricket team in Test cricket. Balbirnie is a right-handed batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper. He was born in Dublin and was educated at St. Andrew's College. He was one of the 11 cricketers to play in Ireland's first ever Test match, against Pakistan, in May 2018. In December 2018, he was one of 19 players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland for the 2019 season.
The Ireland cricket team toured India during March 2017 to play five One Day Internationals (ODIs), three Twenty20 International (T20Is) and an ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Afghanistan. All the matches were played at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, Greater Noida. Afghanistan won the T20I series 3–0 and the ODI series 3–2. Afghanistan also won the ICC Intercontinental Cup match, by an innings and 172 runs.
The 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup was the fifth edition of the Inter-Provincial Cup, a List A cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 1 May to 10 September 2017. It was the first edition of the competition to be played with List A status, following the outcome of a meeting by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in October 2016. Three teams competed; Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights, with Leinster Lightning being the defending champions. Leinster Lightning retained their title, after North West Warriors won their match against Northern Knights on 6 August, giving Leinster Lightning an unassailable lead in the competition.
The 2017 Inter-Provincial Trophy was the fifth edition of the Inter-Provincial Trophy, a Twenty20 cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 26 May to 11 August 2017. It was the first edition of the competition to be played with full Twenty20 status, following the outcome of a meeting by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in October 2016. In April 2017, Cricket Ireland approved the participation of a fourth team, Munster Reds, for the tournament. Leinster Lightning won the tournament, after beating Munster Reds by five wickets in the final round of fixtures.
The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Ireland in June and July 2019 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. All the matches were played at the Stormont Cricket Ground in Belfast and the Bready Cricket Club Ground in Magheramason. Zimbabwe last toured Ireland in 2003.
The Ireland cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in January 2021 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against Afghanistan. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. All of the matches were played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The Ireland cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in January 2021 to play four One Day International (ODI) matches between 8 and 18 January 2021. The matches served as preparation for Ireland's World Cup Super League fixtures against Afghanistan in the UAE.
Conor Olphert is an Irish cricketer. He made his List A debut on 28 September 2020, for North West Warriors in the 2020 Inter-Provincial Cup. On 11 January 2021, Olphert was added to Ireland's squad as a net bowler for their matches against the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan. In February 2021, Olphert was part of the intake for the Cricket Ireland Academy. He made his Twenty20 debut on 18 September 2021, for North West Warriors in the 2021 Inter-Provincial Trophy. In May 2022, Cricket Ireland awarded Olphert a nine-month contract.
