The Wheel of Time is an American high fantasy television series developed by Rafe Judkins for Amazon Prime Video, based on the book series of the same name by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. The music for the series is composed by Lorne Balfe. To date, four soundtrack albums have been released for the first season, and two albums for the second season.
A soundtrack album for the series, The First Turn, was released a week before television premiere on November 12, 2021, by Milan Records in digital, CD, and vinyl formats. [1] The album contains fourteen tracks that are largely conceptual but include key themes that spawned variations in the final score. [1] Balfe said that "The score to this series is a re-imagination of fantasy music, doing away with the genre's reliance on large, traditional orchestras in favor of more modern colors while retaining the strong melodies and bold harmonies that fans can expect from such an epic." [1]

James Southall of Movie Wave wrote "It is essential to approach The Wheel of Time with an open mind–it is far from what you would expect of the music for an epic fantasy, either in an historical sense or more modern examples. For me though it's really quite impressive what Lorne Balfe has conjured up–it's a sound that very much works in the context of the show and also one I've found has become quite compelling on these albums." [6] Calling it as "intimidating and epic" Emma Ayars of Collider summarized "the soundtrack at times flattens the show's extensive lore. It serves its purpose in the series and the vocals are impressive, but it ranks lowest on the list for its lack of diversity in its musical choices." [7]
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2011 film of the same name. Hans Zimmer collaborated again with Lorne Balfe to produce the score. It was released on 13 December 2011, three days before the film was released itself.

Army of the Dead (Music From the Netflix Film) is the soundtrack album to the 2021 American film Army of the Dead, directed by Zack Snyder. The soundtrack was released by Milan Records on May 21, 2021, coinciding the day with its global release on Netflix. It features 12 tracks from the original score composed by Tom Holkenborg, also known as Junkie XL, and the Elvis Presley song "Viva Las Vegas" (performed by Richard Cheese and Allison Crowe). In addition, a limited edition 2-disc vinyl set of the soundtrack was released on September 10.
Cars 3 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album for the 2017 American computer-animated sports comedy-adventure film Cars 3 that features compilation of incorporated and original songs. The album was released by Walt Disney Records on June 16, 2017, coinciding with the film's theatrical release. A separate film score album, Cars 3 (Original Score), composed by Randy Newman, was also released by Walt Disney Records on the same date, also coinciding with the film's theatrical release. The film, directed by Brian Fee and produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, is the third installment of the Cars film series and the sequel to Cars 2 (2011). In May 2017, Walt Disney Records officially announced the release of two soundtracks: separately for the songs and score, unlike for the previous films, where both the songs and original scores by Newman and Michael Giacchino, had compiled into a single album. Fee said that both the score and the soundtrack "really help support the story we are telling".
The Lego Batman Movie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2017 animated film The Lego Batman Movie, which is the second instalment in The Lego Movie franchise. The film is based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, and other primary characters from the DC Universe and the Lego DC Super Heroes' Batman toy line. This is the first and only film in the franchise not to be scored by Mark Mothersbaugh, instead Lorne Balfe scored for the film. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack was released on May 19, 2017.

Penguins of Madagascar: Music from the Motion Picture is the score album for the 2014 film Penguins of Madagascar. The fourth instalment and spin-off of the Madagascar film series, features original score composed by Lorne Balfe, in his first solo debut in a DreamWorks Animation film. He previously wrote additional music for the previous two Madagascar films and also co-composed the score of Megamind (2010) with Hans Zimmer. Zimmer and his music company Remote Control Productions produced the original soundtrack.
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is the soundtrack album to the 2012 film Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, the third instalment in the Madagascar franchise. It features original score cues from the film composed by Lorne Balfe and songs performed by Aaron Hibell, aespa, Polina, ReN, as well as remixes of yesteryear songs newly produced for the film. The album was released on 31 March 2023 by Parlophone Records and Marv Music, and was led by two singles — "Benevolence" by Aaron Hibell and "Hold on Tight" by Aespa released on 17 and 24 March.
Gemini Man (Music from the Motion Picture) is the soundtrack to the 2019 film Gemini Man, directed by Ang Lee and starred Will Smith in dual roles: as Henry Brogan, and Jackson Brogan a.k.a. "Junior". Featuring the original score composed by Lorne Balfe, the album consisted of 17 tracks released by Paramount Music on the same date as the film, October 11, 2019. A limited edition CD of 3,000 copies by La-La Land Records also accompanied the score. The score received mixed critical response.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the soundtrack to the 2023 film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the seventh instalment in the Mission: Impossible film series and the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018). Lorne Balfe, who composed the score for the predecessor, returned to provide music for the original planned two-part series of Dead Reckoning. The soundtrack to the film was released digitally on July 12, 2023, alongside the film by Sony Music Entertainment and Paramount Music, with a physical release to be followed on July 26, by La-La Land Records. The album was recorded in various parts of Europe with 500 musicians performing the score. The opening titles of the film were released as a single on July 6.

Argylle (Soundtrack from the Apple Original Film) is the soundtrack to the 2024 film of the same name directed by Matthew Vaughn. It contains 28 tracks, with two original songs—"Electric Energy" by Ariana DeBose, Boy George and Nile Rodgers, and "Get Up and Start Again" by DeBose—and the remainder consisted instrumental tracks from the film score composed by Lorne Balfe. The former was released as a single on January 26, 2024, and the soundtrack in its entirety released on February 2, 2024, through Platoon and Marv Music.
Ad Astra (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2019 psychological science fiction film Ad Astra directed by James Gray and starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The film's soundtrack consisted of 29 tracks which consisted of music composed by Max Richter and additional music contributed by Lorne Balfe and Nils Frahm. The soundtrack was released digitally through Deutsche Grammophon on October 18, 2019. The album was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is the film score album to the 2024 film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, directed by Mark Molloy; the fourth installment in the Beverly Hills Cop film series and a sequel to Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), it starred Eddie Murphy who reprises his role as Axel Foley. The film's musical score is composed by Lorne Balfe who incorporated Harold Faltermeyer's theme "Axel F" from the 1984 film. The soundtrack was released through Netflix Music on July 3, 2024.
