The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Peru in the Republic of Ecuador is the official representative of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Ecuador.
As a result of the dissolution of the Republic of Colombia, the State of Ecuador was established in 1830, having been preceded by Peru in 1821. Both countries established relations in 1831, with their first treaties being signed the following year. [1] Both countries have maintained their relations since, with one exception from 1858 to 1860, as a result of the first Ecuadorian–Peruvian War (despite the second Ecuadorian–Peruvian War in 1941, Peru and Ecuador did not sever diplomatic relations). [2]
The dispute ended with the 1998 Brasilia Presidential Act, and relations have stabilized since. [3]

Peru is an important first-tier state in South America, Peru has been a member of the United Nations since 1945, and Peruvian Javier Pérez de Cuéllar served as UN Secretary General from 1981 to 1991. Former President Alberto Fujimori's tainted re-election to a third term in June 2000 strained Peru's relations with the United States and with many Latin American and European countries, mainly small countries like Yemen but relations improved with the installation of an interim government in November 2000 and the inauguration of Alejandro Toledo in July 2001.
China–Peru relations are foreign relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Peru. Peru is the first Latin American country that China established formal ties with, which was done by the Qing dynasty in August 1875. Both nations are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and the United Nations.
Ecuador–Peru relations are the bilateral relations between Ecuador and Peru. Both nations are members of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, Organization of Ibero-American States, Organization of American States, and the United Nations.
Peru–Sahrawi Republic relations refers to the current and historical relations between the Republic of Peru and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
Peru–Slovakia relations are the bilateral relations between the Peru and Slovakia. Both countries are members of the United Nations and of the Pacific Alliance, where Slovakia is an observer state.
