The Chief Secretary of Assam is the most senior civil servant in Assam. The secretary acts as the ex-officio Secretary to the Council of Ministers, therefore is also known as Secretary to the Cabinet. The Chief secretary is the Head of the Cabinet Secretariat Department. The functions include providing secretarial assistance to the cabinet, ensuring the implementation of decisions, acting as the policy coordination centre, serving as a data bank of information, organizing conferences. The Chief Secretary is an officer of Indian Administrative Service and is a member of the executive branch of the Government of Assam. The Chief Secretary ranks 23rd on the Indian order of precedence. [1]

Sarbananda Sonowal is an Indian politician of Bharatiya Janata Party from Assam who is serving as the current Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Cabinet Minister of AYUSH, Government of India and the member of the Rajya Sabha representing Assam since 2021 and also a member of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs since 2021. He is the 14th Chief Minister of Assam from 2016 to 2021 and the former of Assam Legislative Assembly from Majuli from 2016 until he resigned in 2021 and from Moran constituency from 2001 to 2004. Sonowal earlier served as the Assam state unit President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2016. He has also served as the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India, from 2014 to 2016 and the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development from 2014 to 2014 and the member of the Lok Sabha from Lakhimpur from 2014 to 2016 and from Dibrugarh from 2004 to 2009. He was also the member of the Asom Gana Parishad from 2001 to 2011.

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam commonly known as SEBA, is the state education regulatory board under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Education, Government of Assam for conducting examinations and providing assurance for the quality of education imparted in schools within Assam, India that are affiliated to it. It offers education in English (IL), Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, Meitei (Manipuri), Hmar, Nepali, Mizo, Khasi, Garo, Karbi and Urdu languages.

The Third Tarun Gogoi ministry is the third consecutive council of ministers of the Government of Assam headed by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi between 2011 and 2016. The ministry was constituted on 30 May 2011 after Tarun Gogoi was sworn-in as the chief minister of the state for the third consecutive term after leading the Indian National Congress into victory in the assembly election. The ministry remained into force until 24 May 2016.

Chandreswar Prasad Sinha was an Indian jurist who served as Governor of Assam from 23 August 1959 to 14 October 1959 and Chief Justice of Assam.

The Second Ministry of Hiteswar Saikia was the Cabinet of Assam headed by Chief Minister of Assam Hiteswar Saikia that was formed after the 1991 Assam Legislative Assembly election. The 36 member Congress ministry included 21 Cabinet Ministers and 15 Ministers of State. The election was held between 6 and 8 June 1991 and this led to the formation of the 9th Assam Legislative Assembly. Saikia was sworn in as Chief Minister on 30 June 1991 by Governor Lokanath Misra. The ministry was dissolved following the death of Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia on 22 April 1996.
