This list is about the area of largest cities in India. The cities are ranked by the area governed by local political bodies such as municipal corporations. For the list of largest metropolitan areas, see List of metropolitan areas in India.

Greater Jaipur and Heritage Jaipur became two separate municipal corporations, so are not on the list.

This list is only for areas within municipal corporations which have an area of more than 400 km2.

It is the largest and most populous city in (Kachchh) Kutch District, Gujarat, India. It was created in the early 1950s for the resettlement of Sindhi Hindu refugees from Sindh, Pakistan, in the aftermath of the partition of India. The city was named after M K Gandhi. An economic capital of Kutch, Gandhidham is a growing area for families and retirees. According to the 2011 Census, Gandhidham is Gujarat's 8th most populous city. It is a popular destination for conventions, business, and meetings.

Gangapur is a city and a municipal council located in Gangapur City District in the eastern part of Indian state of Rajasthan. Mandideep is a town with municipality in Goharganj sub-district of Raisen district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Mandideep is 23 km from Bhopal and is basically an Industrial township which came into existence in late 1970s. The Mandideep Municipality has population of 59,654 of which 32,390 are males while 27,264 are females as per report released by 2011 Census of India. Literacy rate of Mandideep city is 83.76 % higher than state average of 69.32 %. In Mandideep, Male literacy is around 89.33 % while female literacy rate is 77.04. Mandideep's annual productions are worth some Rs. 80,000 crore in 2021, making it one of the most productive economic centers in India.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Expressways of India</span> Overview and list of expressways in India

Expressways are the highest class of roads in India. As of December 2024, the total length of expressways in India was 6,059 km (3,765 mi), with 11,127.69 km (6,914.43 mi) under construction. As per NHAI and Indian Roads Congress, expressways are access controlled highways with a divided carriageway, designed for high speed vehicular movement and heavy traffic. There is a central reservation or median that separates the flow travelling in opposite directions. Entrance and exits are provided only by grade separated interchanges. The interchanges may be system interchanges used with other national or state highways or be service interchanges used with smaller roads. In contrast, National highways may or may not be divided by a median and may or may not have access control. Some highways, built by State Governments, which may be fully access controlled or may be limited access controlled, are declared or named as expressways by their respective State Governments.

Bareilly Junction railway station is a railway station serving Bareilly city in Uttar Pradesh. It is an important station as well as the headquarters of Izzatnagar railway division of the North Eastern Railway zone & Moradabad railway division of the Northern Railway zone. It lies on Lucknow–Moradabad line and Lucknow-Sitapur-Lakhimpur-Pilibhit-Bareilly-Kasganj Line provides a stop for most trains passing through. Bareilly Junction used to serve both broad and metre gauge, Bareilly Junction was connected to Lucknow by both Broad Gauge and Meter Gauge, Broad Gauge was connected to Lucknow via Tilhar, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi. On the other hand Meter Gauge was connected to Lucknow via Pilibhit-Mailani-Lakhimpur-Sitapur, but now the metre gauge is converted into broad gauge.

Nimbi Jodha is a town in Ladnu, Nagaur District, Rajasthan, India. It belongs to Ajmer Division. It is located 75 km east of the district headquarters, Nagaur, and 51 km from Salasar Balaji.

Jaunpur Junction, also known as Bhandariya railway station is a railway station in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The Indian Government is undertaking several initiatives to upgrade its aging railway infrastructure and enhance its quality of service. The Railway Ministry has announced plans to invest 5,400,000 crore to upgrade the railways by 2030. Upgrades include 100% electrification of railways, upgrading existing lines with more facilities and higher speeds, expansion of new lines, upgrading railway stations, introducing and eventually developing a large high-speed train network interconnecting major cities in different parts of India and development of various dedicated freight corridors to cut down cargo costs within the country.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bharatmala</span> Indian highway and expressway construction project

The Bharatmala Pariyojna was a project in India implemented by Government of India. It was slated to interconnect 550 District Headquarters through a minimum 4-lane highway by raising the number of corridors to 50 and move 80% of freight traffic to National Highways by interconnecting 24 logistics parks, 66 inter-corridors (IC) of total 8,000 km (5,000 mi), 116 feeder routes (FR) of total 7,500 km (4,700 mi) and 7 northeast Multi-Modal waterway ports. The project also includes the development of tunnels, bridges, elevated corridors, flyovers, overpasses, interchanges, bypasses, ring roads, etc. to provide the shortest, jam-free & optimized connectivity to multiple places, it is a centrally-sponsored and funded Road and Highways project of the Government of India.

Bhilwara railway station is the railway station in Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. Its code is BHL. It serves Bhilwara city. The station consists of four platforms and two entrances. The platforms are well sheltered. It has basic amenities including Wifi in partnership with Google. It is in A category Railway Station

Bina Junction railway station is a railway station in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is part of the Bhopal division of West Central Railway. Bina Junction serves the city of Bina, along with Bundelkhand and Malwa. Bina Junction has six platforms.

Mayors of Indian cities is the list of mayors of various cities and towns in India. A mayor in India is the head of the municipal corporation and first citizen of that city of town. Many cities and towns in India have mayors and the procedure to elect them varies from one state to another. The term of their office, their powers and the procedure for electing them too varies from one Indian state to another.
