Taitung County is the third largest county in Taiwan Province, Republic of China, located primarily on the island's southeastern coast and also including Green Island, Orchid Island and Lesser Orchid Island. The seat is located in Taitung City.
Local elections were held in Taiwan on 3 December 2005 to elect magistrates of counties and mayors of cities, councillors in county/city councils and mayors of townships and cities, known as the three-in-one elections, on 10 June 2006 to elect representatives in township/city councils and village chiefs, on 9 December 2006 to elect mayors and councillors of special municipalities, and on 30 December 2006 to elect village chiefs in Taipei City.
The Mayor of Taoyuan is the chief executive of the Taoyuan City Government. Taoyuan City is a special municipality of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was formerly known as the magistrate of Taoyuan before 25 December 2014 when Taoyuan was still a county. This list includes directly elected magistrates of the county during that time period.
Chiu Ching-chun is a Taiwanese politician. He was the Magistrate of Hsinchu County since 20 December 2009 until 25 December 2018.
Justin Huang is a Taiwanese politician. Like his father Huang Ching-fong, Justin Huang joined the Kuomintang. He was a member of the National Assembly from 1996 to 2000. Huang was first elected to the Legislative Yuan in 2001. He served two full terms on the Legislative Yuan, and was reelected to a third in 2008. Huang stepped as a legislator in 2009 to run for Taitung County Magistrate. After two terms as county magistrate, Huang left office in 2018.
Wu Cherng-dean is a Taiwanese politician. As of 2003 and 2006 he was of the New Party of the Republic of China in Taiwan and served as a legislator. In 2003 he and Sisy Chen joined the People First Party (PFP) legislative caucus. By 2007 he was a legislator with the Kuomintang. He has been the chairperson of the New Party since 21 February 2020. His cousin is actor-singer Wu Chun.。
