The Andromeda Strain is a 1969 techno-thriller novel by Michael Crichton, his first novel under his own name and his sixth novel overall. It is written as a report documenting the efforts of a team of scientists investigating the outbreak of a deadly extraterrestrial microorganism in Arizona. The Andromeda Strain appeared in the New York Times Best Seller list, establishing Michael Crichton as a genre writer.
Barkerville was the main town of the Cariboo Gold Rush in British Columbia, Canada, and is preserved as a historic town. It is located on the north slope of the Cariboo Plateau near the Cariboo Mountains 80 kilometres (50 mi) east of Quesnel. BC Highway 26, which follows the route of the Cariboo Wagon Road, the original access to Barkerville, goes through it.

Steve Bacic is a Canadian actor. He is known for playing the characters Gaheris and Telemachus Rhade on the Sci-Fi series Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. After guest starring in seasons 1-3 as both characters, he joined the cast early in season four as Telemachus. In total, he was in 44 of the 110 Andromeda episodes. Beginning in 2013, he co-starred as "Jason" in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel Garage Sale Mysteries series of TV films.

With a few exceptions, the film follows the book closely. The special effects were designed by Douglas Trumbull. The film is notable for its use of split screen in certain scenes.
The Grey Fox is a 1982 Canadian biographical Western film directed by Phillip Borsos and written by John Hunter. It is based on the true story of Bill Miner, an American stagecoach robber who staged his first Canadian train robbery on 10 September 1904. The film stars Richard Farnsworth as Miner. The cast also features Jackie Burroughs, Ken Pogue, Wayne Robson, Gary Reineke and Timothy Webber.
Ezra Allen Miner, more popularly known as Bill Miner, was an American bandit, originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, who served several prison terms for stagecoach robbery. Known for his unusual politeness while committing robberies, he was widely nicknamed the Grey Fox, Gentleman Robber or the Gentleman Bandit. He is reputed to have been the originator of the phrase "Hands up!" Legend has it that Bill Miner admonished his cohorts to fire their guns when in danger of capture but "do not kill a man".

The miniseries is a "reimagining" of the original novel rather than an adaptation. In addition to updating the setting to the early 21st century, the miniseries makes a great many plot and character changes from its source. The mini-series has two episodes for a total of 169 minutes.
Alex Zahara is a Canadian television, film and voice actor. Born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, he was involved with theatre while still in school, performing in a stage version of MASH. He later taught the "Acting for Teens" class at the Vancouver Film School. Zahara graduated with a BFA after studying at the universities of Alberta and British Columbia.

It is distributed by Universal Studios and stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan as the lead roles Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively. The Legend of Kootenai Brown, retitled Showdown at Williams Creek in the United States, is a Canadian Western drama film, directed by Allan Kroeker and released in 1991. The film stars Tom Burlinson as Kootenay Brown, a mining prospector who was active in the 1860s in British Columbia and Montana, but ended up on trial for murder after killing a man in a duel. The cast also includes Donnelly Rhodes as conman McTooth; Michelle Thrush as Olivia D'Lonais, Brown's Métis love interest; and Raymond Burr as the judge at Brown's murder trial.
