Chililabombwe is a small town in Copperbelt Province, Zambia. It is located near the Democratic Republic of the Congo border. The name Chililabombwe means 'place of the croaking frog' in the local language of Lamba language. The town has a population of 87 000 based on census data from 2010, making it one of the largest towns in the Copperbelt. The city is 30 km from neighbouring town of Chingola, and approximately 20 km from the large border market of Kasumbalesa. It has also produced national heroes like the late soccer star Eston Mulenga and many others. It's a home for the bundu people. The copper belt is the Lambaland the group of people who migrated to the copper belt were Lambas and all the names in this province are in Lamba language not Bemba. Lambas have been in this province close to 500 years. And Bembas came to provide labour to the mining companies in the 1930s and there no way a place can be named in Bemba. The name of the town Chililabombwe meaning the croaking frog, frog in Lamba is Bombwe and in Bemba is Chula or Chule.
The Zambia Super League, also known as MTN/FAZ Super Division due to sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Football Association of Zambia. It was created in 1962. The 2020–21 Zambian Super League is the most recent season. The top 4 of the league will qualify for continental football, with the top 2 qualifying for the group stage qualifiers of the CAF Champions League. The third and fourth positioned teams will qualify for the group stage qualifiers of the CAF Confederation Cup. The League was originally scheduled from March to December but a transition season was conducted so that the calendar can be matched with that of CAF Tournaments. The league is ranked 7th among all the countries in Africa in the CAF 5-year ranking. The league is owned by the Football Association of Zambia with broadcasting rights belonging to Supersport, who televises 126 matches, and the winners of the league will receive a copper trophy with their names engraved on it.The league hosts some of the most interesting matches. One of the most fierce matches is the Nkana derby(also known as the El Kopala) where Nkana football club meets its neighbour and historic rival Power Dynamos football club. This match has in the past years induced pandemonium, between the two clubs which are only separated by the ndola-kitwe road.
Godfrey Chitalu, nicknamed Ucar, was a Zambian footballer who played as a forward. He is widely regarded as the greatest Zambian player of all time as he holds his national team's goalscoring record and was voted Zambian footballer of the year five times. As well, he was selected by CAF as one of the best 200 African footballers of the past 50 years in 2006. The Football Association of Zambia claimed that Chitalu scored more than 100 goals in all competitions in 1972, more than Gerd Müller's total in 1972 and Lionel Messi's total in 2012, both of which are often referred to by journalist as "world records". The research was presented in the year 2012 after Lionel Messi broke the alleged world record of Gerd Müller. Nevertheless, a FIFA spokesman declared that an official FIFA world record had never existed as they did not keep track of domestic competitions.
The Zambia Cup or Mosi Cup is the top knockout tournament of the Zambian football. It was incorporated in 1962.

Alex Chola was a Zambian footballer and coach. Voted Zambian Footballer of the Year in 1976, he is regarded as one of the greatest Zambian players in history and is the country's second highest goal scorer after Godfrey Chitalu. He made a mark at Mufulira Blackpool and Power Dynamos before becoming Dynamos coach and winning the Coach of the Year award in 1992. Chola died in a plane crash off the coast of Gabon on 27 April 1993.

Rugby union in Zambia is a minor but growing sport. The Zambia national rugby union team is currently ranked 67th by World Rugby. The Zambia Rugby Football Union has 9880 registered players and three formally organised clubs.
Roan United is a Zambian football club based in Luanshya. The club is a current member of the Zambian Premier League although they were most successful during the early years of Zambian football. Indeed, they were the inaugural winners of the ZPL, clinching what was then called the Northern Rhodesia National Football League in 1962. They play their home matches at Kafubu Stadium.

Kaiser Kalambo was a Zambian coach and former footballer. He represented Zambia in three African Cup of Nations tournaments and was named Zambian captain in 1980, the same year in which he was voted Zambian footballer of the year. He later coached several club sides in Zambia and Botswana.
Peter Kaumba is a Zambian football coach and former player who is regarded as one of Zambia's greatest winger of all time. He was voted the best winger at CAN 1982 where Zambia came out third and was Zambian top player, top scorer and Sportsman of the Year in the same year. Kaumba's career was cut short by injury in 1984 and he became a coach, taking charge of several Zambian clubs.
Richard Stephenson was one of Zambia's most gifted midfielders who featured during the country's very first Cup of Nations appearance in Egypt in 1974. He captained the 'Magnificent' Kabwe Warriors and was Zambia's footballer of the year in 1971. Stephenson also played for Kitwe giants Power Dynamos later in his career.
Fighton Simukonda was a Zambian coach and former footballer. He was part of the Nkana Red Devils side of the 1980s, winning five league titles, and he also captained Zambia. As a coach, he won several Zambian Premier League titles and became the first coach to lead a Zambian club to the group phase of the CAF Champions' League.
The Zambian Second Division, also known as Division due to sponsorship reasons, was the second division of the Football Association of Zambia. But the league pyramid was restructured before the season of 2019/20 when they also changed the league calendar to match the CAF calendar. The 2016 Zambia Super League is the 55th season of the Zambian Top League. The season began on 12 March 2016. ZESCO United are the defending champions, coming off their second consecutive title and fifth overall, all in the last nine years.
The T3 is a Trunk Road in Zambia. The road runs from Kapiri Mposhi via Ndola, Kitwe and Chingola to Kasumbalesa on the border with DR Congo. The entire route is a toll road.

The FAZ Women Super Division is the highest league of women’s football in Zambia. It was established in the beginning of 2021 and is run by FAZ. The inaugural season features 12 teams from four provinces in Zambia. The super division replaced the 4 regional women's leagues as the highest level of women’s football in Zambia, while the regional leagues dropped to the second tier.
