The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan is the top diplomatic representative of Bangladesh to Pakistan. The High Commissioner heads the Bangladeshi High Commission in Islamabad. [1] The post was created on 3 January 1976, shortly after Pakistan and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations. [1] [2] [3] Initially from 1976 to 1989, the Bangladeshi envoy held the rank of ambassador. [4] After Pakistan rejoined the Commonwealth of Nations in 1989, of which Bangladesh was also a member, the post was changed by default to that of the High Commissioner. [5]
The 15th and present High Commissioner is Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, who assumed responsibilities in December 2024. [1] There is also a Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, who serves as the head of Bangladesh's deputy mission in Karachi. [6]

Abul Fateh was a Bangladeshi diplomat, statesman and Sufi who was one of the founding fathers of South Asian diplomacy after the Second World War, having been the founder and inaugural Director of Pakistan's Foreign Service Academy and subsequently becoming Bangladesh's first Foreign Secretary when it gained its independence in 1971. He was Bangladesh's senior-most diplomat both during the 'Liberation War' period of its Mujibnagar administration as well as in peacetime.

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) was established in 1984 and incorporated under the Companies Act VII of 1913 on 26 August 1984 as a Limited Company by Guarantee. Its registered office is in Islamabad and its jurisdiction spreads over the entire Federal Capital Area (urban and rural). The presently designated Deputy High Commissioner is S. M. Mahbubul Alam, who was appointed in 2021. The Deputy High Commission reports to the High Commission of Bangladesh in Islamabad.
