Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city of Rivers State in Nigeria. It is the fifth most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Benin. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the oil rich Niger Delta region. As of 2023, Port Harcourt's urban population is approximately 3,480,000. The population of the metropolitan area of Port Harcourt is almost twice its urban area population with a 2015 United Nations estimate of 2,344,000. In 1950, the population of Port Harcourt was 59,752. Port Harcourt has grown by 150,844 since 2015, which represents a 4.99% annual change.

Kelsey Harrison Hospital is a State owned hospital in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State. It was originally called New Niger Hospital and retained that name until 2009 when it was revamped and renamed after Kelsey Harrison, an internationally renowned professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The facility officially opened to public in January 2013.
Rivers State Television, UHF channel 22 is a state-owned television station in Port Harcourt city, Rivers State. It began its operation in 1985. Initially, the station's broadcasting power was 1 kW and signals were transmitted on UHF channel 55. After an upgrade in 1991, RSTV moved to UHF Channel 22 and had its radiated power boosted to 30 kW.

Borokiri is a neighborhood of the city of Port Harcourt situated just south of Old GRA in Rivers State, Nigeria. It lies at latitude 4.749° N and longitude 7.035° E. The neighborhood is bounded by Ahoada Street to the north, Okrika Island to the east, Orubiri oilfield to the south and Ship Builders Road to the west. Rivers State University Teaching Hospital formerly known as Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital is a government owned hospital, named after Eldred Curwen Braithwaite, a British doctor and a pioneer of surgery. It is located in Old GRA, Rivers State a neighbourhood of Port Harcourt and is operated by Rivers State Hospital Management Board. It was established in March 1925 as Braithwaite Memorial Hospital and originally served as a medical facility for senior civil servants. It later became a General Hospital and has since gained status as a "Specialist Health Institution". In 2018, it was renamed to serve as a Teaching Hospital for the state owned university following the establishment of college of medical sciences.
