Niger Delta Science School (NDSS), formerly known as Ompadec Science Centre, is a specialist science secondary school in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It is located within the Rivers State College of Arts and Science main campus in Rumuola. It is an all senior secondary school, having SS1 - SS3. The approximate coordinates of the school are: 4°50′8″N6°59′44″E / 4.83556°N 6.99556°E / 4.83556; 6.99556 (4.835739, 6.995757). [1] [2]

Rivers State University, formerly Rivers State University of Science and Technology, is a university located in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The university has staff strength of 3,000 and a student population of 22,400 as of 2017. It is the first technological university in Nigeria and also the first university to be situated within the Niger Delta. In 2014, it was rated as Nigeria's best E-learning institution and was ranked as the 15th best university in the country.

The Ekpeye are a people in southeastern Nigeria with a distinct culture and rulers of a former kingdom. The Ekpeye are usually included as a subgroup of the Igbo people on linguistic and cultural grounds. They speak an Igboid language. Ekpeye people live in the Ahoada (Ahuda) Ogba-Egbema and Ohaji-Egbema areas of Rivers State and Imo State in Nigeria.

Obio-Akpor is a local government area in the metropolis of Port Harcourt, one of the major centres of economic activities in Nigeria, and one of the major cities of the Niger Delta, located in Rivers State. The local government area covers 260 km2 and at the 2006 Census held a population of 464,789. Its postal code or ZIP code is 500102. Obio-Akpor has its headquarters at Rumuodomaya. The original indigenous occupants of the area are the Ikwerre people.

Rivers State University Teaching Hospital formerly known as Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital is a government owned hospital, named after Eldred Curwen Braithwaite, a British doctor and a pioneer of surgery. It is located in Old GRA, Rivers State a neighbourhood of Port Harcourt and is operated by Rivers State Hospital Management Board. It was established in March 1925 as Braithwaite Memorial Hospital and originally served as a medical facility for senior civil servants. It later became a General Hospital and has since gained status as a "Specialist Health Institution". In 2018, it was renamed to serve as a Teaching Hospital for the state owned university following the establishment of college of medical sciences.
