The mayor of Kozhikode (formerly mayor of Calicut) is the first citizen of the Indian city of Kozhikode (formerly Calicut). This person is the chief of the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Calicut Mini Marathon</span> Annual running and sporting event in India

Calicut Half Marathon is a running and sporting event conducted annually by IIM Kozhikode. First initiated in 2010, the event now takes place annually in the month of February or March. Over 5000 people participate in the marathon every year. The event consists of timed races of 21 kilometres and 10 kilometres and a non-competitive "Dream Run" of 3 kilometres, which is not timed. The total prize money for both the men's and Women's categories combined for the timed races is INR 4,50,000.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation</span> Local civic body in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is the civic body that governs the city of Visakhapatnam, largest city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Its jurisdiction encompasses an area of 640 km2 (250 sq mi). It is also part of the planning body of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Established in the year 1979, the executive power of the GVMC is vested in the Municipal Commissioner, an Indian Administrative Service officer appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. A. Sajeevan is a veteran journalist, author and channel debater in Malayalam language. He hails from Beypore, Kozhikkode dist. of Kerala state. He has worked with noted daily news papers which publish from Kerala. He has been known for his liberal and secular political views.

Elections to local bodies in Kerala were held in December 2020. Polling took place over 3 days; on 8, 10 and 14 December, with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December.
