Because Cyprus has no working railway system, various other methods of transport are needed to ensure the proper delivery of any cargo, be it human or freight. Since the last railway was dismantled in 1952, the only remaining modes of transport are by road, by sea, and by air.
Nicosia is the divided capital city of the Republic of Cyprus and the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is regarded as the last divided capital in the world. It is located near the centre of the Mesaoria plain, on the banks of the River Pedieos.

Avgorou is a municipal district of the Municipality of Ayia Napa in southwestern Famagusta District, Cyprus. It is located near Frenaros, Sotira, Liopetri and Ormidia.
Mousere is a Greek Cypriot village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located 5 km (3.1 mi) northeast of Archimandrita. It is built on an altitude of 550 m (1,800 ft) above sea level and it is 33 km (21 mi) from Pafos city centre. In 1960 the village had a population of 69 people. In the municipal elections of 2011, Mousere had 6 pensioner voters registered although they have not been included in the 1992 and 2001 census reports due to their arguable unwillingness to register for the census. They elected Ioanna Meletiou as Community President. Mousere has 2 churches and 10 standing houses. The main church is dedicated to Timios Prodromos and the second to Ayia Sophia. Mousere has no urban planning zone. Within Mousere there are 11.9 hectares of cultivated land, whilst 37.35 hectares are still uncultivated. Moreover there are 2.21 hectares of pasture land. Mousere has experienced a cataclysmic decline in its livestock population. Whereas in 1994 there had been 261 sheep, 445 goats and 40 chickens in 2009, this had been eradicated to 0.
The Cyprus Port & Marine Police is the marine police and the civilian Coast Guard wing of the Cyprus Police, and are tasked with the primary mission of law enforcement of the waters around, and control of the sea borders of the Republic of Cyprus. Main roles are reported to include law enforcement of illicit activities such as smuggling, terrorism, piracy and illegal fishing. The Cyprus Port and Marine Police also serve a role as a search and rescue (SAR) force. This force is equipped with patrol boats and radars.
Michael Herodotou Zampelas was a Cypriot businessman, politician and philanthropist.
Pafos FC is a Cypriot football club based in Paphos. The club was created in 2014, by the merger of the two biggest teams of Paphos, AEP Paphos and AEK Kouklia. They play their home games at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium and currently compete in the Cypriot First Division. The club is owned by the two Russians Sergey Lomakin and Roman Dubov. Lomakin is also the owner of the Russian second-tier club FC Rodina Moscow.
Sophocles Sophocleous was born and educated in Lefkosia. He then studied at the University of Human Sciences of Strasbourg and Paris-X-Nanterre and at ICCROM in Rome.
Nicosia within the city limits is divided into 29 administrative units, according to the latest census. This unit is termed in English as quarter, neighbourhood, parish, enoria or mahalla. These units are: Ayios Andreas, Trypiotis, Nebethane, Tabakhane, Phaneromeni, Ayios Savvas, Omerie, Ayios Antonios, St. John, Taht-el-kale, Chrysaliniotissa, Ayios Kassianos (Kafesli), Kaïmakli, Panayia, St Constantine & Helen, Ayioi Omoloyites, Arab Ahmet, Yeni Jami, Omorfita, Ibrahim Pasha, Mahmut Pasha, Abu Kavouk, St. Luke, Abdi Chavush, Iplik Pazar and Korkut Effendi, Ayia Sophia, Haydar Pasha, Karamanzade, and Yenişehir/Neapolis. Some of these units were previously independent Communities. Ayioi Omoloyites was annexed in 1944, while Kaïmakli and Omorfita were annexed in 1968. Pallouriotissa, also annexed in 1968, was subsequently divided into the neighbourhoods of Panayia, and St Constantine & Helen.
Limassol District or Lemesos is one of the six districts of Cyprus. As of 2011, it had a population of 239,842, 77% of which was urban. Its main city is Limassol. Part of the British Overseas Territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia forms an enclave on the Akrotiri Peninsula, under the sovereignty of the United Kingdom.
Katy Stephanides was one of the leading artists in Cypriot modernist movement in the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century. She held her first solo exhibition in 1972 featuring abstract geometric paintings and continued exhibiting through 2003. She has works in the collections of the Byzantine Museum of the Archbishop Makarios III, the Loukia and Michalakis Zambelas Art Museum, the Municipal Art Gallery of Limassol and the State Gallery of Contemporary Cypriot Art.
The 2018–19 Cypriot Cup was the 77th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 24 clubs were accepted to enter the competition. It began on 5 December 2018 with the first round and concluded on 22 May 2019 with the final held at GSP Stadium. The winner of the Cup was AEL Limassol for seventh time and qualified for the 2019–20 Europa League second qualifying round.
