This list of protected areas of Roskilde Municipality is a list of protected areas of Roskilde Municipality, Denmark. It is based on a list compiled by the Danish Society for Nature Conservation. [1] The list comprises all localities that are under landscape protection. For heritage listed buildings, see the list of listed buildings in Roskilde Municipality.

The urban area of Copenhagen, lying mostly in the Capital Region of Denmark but also in Region Zealand, consist of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg municipalities and the former Copenhagen County. In all, it consists of 18 municipalities, and except parts of Ballerup, Greve, Ishøj, former Søllerød and former Værløse, mentioned with their population included from 2007. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Himmelev</span>

Himmelev is a largely residential area in the municipality of Roskilde in Denmark and is contiguous with Roskilde. The population in the parish is around 14,000 (2022). It is on the eastern shore of the southernmost part of Roskilde Fjord. It contains primarily subdivisions with single family homes, but one of the three high schools in Roskilde, Himmelev Gymnasium, is also located the town. The Norwegian owned liver paté factory Stryhn's is located in the northwestern part of Himmelev, close to Roskilde Fjord. Veddelev lies slightly to the northwest on a peninsula extending into Roskilde fjord, leaving a narrow waterway of one kilometer extending to the southeast into a rectangular shaped area of the fjord of around 8 sq mi, which contains Roskilde harbor to the south. Further north lies Risø on another peninsula in the fjord.

Roskilde Museum is a local history museum based in Roskilde, Denmark. The museum, which is run by the municipalities of Roskilde, Frederikssund and Lejre, has eight separate branches. The main branch in Roskilde, on the corner of Sankt Olsgade and Sankt Olsstræde, is based in two listed buildings, the Sugar House and the Liebe House, a former sugar refinery and a former merchant's house respectively.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Selsø</span> Manor house in Frederikssund Municipality, Denmark

Selsø is a historic manor house located near Skibby, on the Hornsherred peninsula, Frederikssund Municipality, some 50 km (31 mi) west of Copenhagen, Denmark. The estate traces its history back to the 13th century. The current main building dates from 1576 but was renovated in the Baroque style in 1734. The estate has been owned by the Scheel-Plessen family since 1721 but the recently restored main building and its immediate surroundings have been ceded to a self-owning foundation. The building is now operated as a museum and is also used as a venue for concerts and other events. The knight's hall is decorated with paintings by Hendrick Krock. The main building, a gatehouse from 1734 and the east wing of the adjacent home farm (Avlsgården) were listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918.

St Ib's Church is a Romanesque church in Roskilde on the Danish island of Zealand. It was first mentioned in 1291. The church was once richly decorated with frescos.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sankt Laurentii Church Tower</span>

The Sankt Laurentii Church Mama Tower is all that remains of Sankt Laurentii Church in Roskilde on the Danish island of Zealand. The church itself was built of travertine in the Romanesque style in the 13th century but was torn down after the Reformation leaving only the tower from the beginning of the 16th century. The tower now forms part of the former town hall. It contains a museum where archaeological finds from 1998 can be seen.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Maglekilde</span>

Maglekilde is the most powerful of several natural springs in Roskilde, Denmark. It formerly issued water at a rate of some 90,000 litres per hour but has now dropped to 15,000 litres per hour. A wellhouse was built over the spring in 1927. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1979.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Byparken, Roskilde</span>

Byparken is a public park in central Roskilde, Denmark. It was founded in 1915 and was partly financed through a donation of the textile manufacturer O. H. Schmeltz. The park adjoins Provstevænget, a small protected field next to Roskilde Cathedral. Together, the two areas form a large green space between the cathedral and Roskilde Fjord.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Snedinge</span> Manor house in Slagelse, Denmark

Snedinge is a former manor house and estate located in Slagelse Municipality, Denmark. It has been a farm under Holsteinsborg since 1708. A three-winged complex of farm buildings from circa 1567-1663 have been listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places. The main building is from the 1900s but the cellar and foundations date from 1615. It is not listed. Museet for Landbokultur & -Erhverv, a small museum dedicated to the history of agriculture, fishing and crafts in the area, is located in one of the former cow stables.

Tuse Inn is a former coaching inn situated opposite Tuse Church in the village of Tuse, Holbæk Municipality, Denmark. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1950.
