Yleisradio Oy, abbreviated as Yle, translated into English as the Finnish Broadcasting Company, is Finland's national public broadcasting company, founded in 1926. It is a joint-stock company, which is 99.98% owned by the Finnish state and employs around 3,200 people in Finland. Yle shares many of its organisational characteristics with its British counterpart, the BBC, on which it was largely modelled.

Sveriges Television AB, shortened to SVT, is the Swedish national public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag. Prior to 2019, SVT was funded by a television licence fee payable by all owners of television sets. The Swedish public broadcasting system is largely modelled after the system used in the United Kingdom, and Sveriges Television shares many traits with its British counterpart, the BBC.

The mass media in Sweden has a long tradition going back to the 1766 law enacting freedom of the press.

Sveriges Radio AB is Sweden's national publicly funded radio broadcaster. Sveriges Radio is a public limited company, owned by an independent foundation, previously funded through a licensing fee, the level of which is decided by the Swedish Riksdag. As of 1 January 2019, the funds stem from standard taxation. No advertising is permitted. Its legal status could be described as that of a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organization.

National roads in Sweden have road numbers from 1 through 99. The national roads are usually of high quality and sometimes pass through several counties. Roads with lower numbers are in southern Sweden, and roads with higher numbers are in northern Sweden. There are many cases where two or more routes in this system share the same physical road for a considerable distance, giving the country several kilometers of double-numbered road.

The 1925–26 Allsvenskan, part of the 1925–26 Swedish football season, was the second Allsvenskan season played. The first match was played 2 August 1925 and the last match was played 6 June 1926. Örgryte IS won the league ahead of runners-up GAIS, while IFK Malmö and IK City were relegated.

Allsvenskan 2002, part of the 2002 Swedish football season, was the 78th Allsvenskan season played. The first match was played 6 April 2002 and the last match was played 2 November 2002. Djurgårdens IF won the league ahead of runners-up Malmö FF, while IFK Norrköping and Kalmar FF were relegated.

Allsvenskan 2008, part of the 2008 Swedish football season, was the 84th Allsvenskan season played. The first match was played on 30 March 2008 and the last matches were played on 9 November 2008.

According to the official census of 2006, there are 3,669 ethnic Macedonians in Sweden. The Swedish immigrant center reports that there are 6,000 Macedonians in Sweden, but Macedonian Associations and the Macedonian foreign ministry claim their number is over 15,000.

The West Link is a railway tunnel under construction under central Gothenburg. The purpose of the project is to increase capacity and reduce travel times on the Gothenburg network by changing the Gothenburg Central Station from a terminus to an underground transit station. Two new underground stations, Haga and Korsvägen, will also be built.

<i>MusikhjÀlpen</i> Swedish radio and television program

Musikhjälpen is a Swedish televised benefit performance radio show marathon. The annually recurring show is a charity fundraiser for a chosen cause, the cause is changed each year. Three radio hosts or television personalities are locked inside a glass building for 144 hours. Each presenter acts as a host for eight hours respectively, totaling three shifts per day. It is broadcast in December, during one week, with dates varying each year.

Götalandsbanan is a planned high-speed railway planned to be built between Södertälje and Gothenburg in Sweden, past Linköping and Jönköping. The planned length is about 440 km (270 mi). The speed is planned to be 250 km/h (155 mph).

There are several derbies in the Allsvenskan and in the lower divisions of the Swedish football pyramid.

Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by Sveriges Television (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016.

Arantxa Isabel Álvarez Garri is a Swedish television presenter and singer. She grew up in Norrköping and is since 2014 residing in Malmö.

Vulnerable area is a term applied by the Swedish Police Authority to areas with high crime rates and social exclusion. In the December 2015 report, there were 53 vulnerable areas, which increased to 61 in June 2017. The increase is reported to be due to better reporting, not a changing situation. The overall trend is that these areas are improving.
